“Im a Blue 70's guy from head to toe. I made my local traning swim yesterday air temps of 62F with overcast and water temps of 56F. My wetsuit, gloves and hood was priceless and made it more then bareable and after about the first 200 yards I was good other then my face and feet were knumb by the end. I just placed an order for my boots this morning.
As a point I also use the gloves for bike training.
Blue 70 rocks. From ordering, pricing, customer service (knowlegable staff ---- that answers the phone)-- (not emial hell), to incrediable products.
I would have saved a lot of time and money if I would have purchased them first. But I didn't I made a price based decsions and I was wrong and missable.
Learn from my mistakes and pay that little bit more and enjoy the quality.”
“Felt like it would slide off but the fastener below the chin kept the cap in place during the entire swim. My head has stayed warm with every swim including race day in 46 F water temperature.”
“Overall quality solid. The cap doesn't quite cover my head as well as it might, yet has an overly long strap. The velcro barely aligns while having a reasonable but not snug fit. In other words it assumes my brain is smaller than my chin. Am I smarter than the average chisled-chin swimmer? ;-) (Note: my chin is pretty broad, but my head is also big and filled with active grey matter.”
Two quick things that may help you out. First, make sure the strap / velcro closure is on your right (another way to check is that the silver lines with "Thermal" is towards the front of your head. If you accidentally put the cap on backwards (velcro closer will be on the left), the strap and velcro will not align well and the cap will tilt far back on your head so won't cover you completely. We've had other folks do this by mistake.
Second, the strap is long because everyone has slightly different sized heads and preferences on how tight they like the strap. Once you have the cap on and confirm what is comfortable for you, you can trim the excess length off the strap so that it does not flop over.
Hope that helps, happy swimming!
