“A great swim bootie that works in moderately cold water. It's really lightweight which makes kicking feel really natural. However, it is a bit too thin for water below 40F/5C. I opted for a 3mm C-skin bootie for these colder temperatures, but as the water warms, I will switch back to these thermal socks as the 3mm C-skin booties are a bit heavy/draggy.”
“I bought these to wear with my BS thermal reaction wetsuit (which I LOVE) I swim in an estuary where winter water temperatures range from mid to high 40s. I wear flippers and these keep my feet from turning to wood stumps and fit comfortably in my flippers. I did wear holes in my first pair from walking across the parking lot but have purchased some crocs to wear to protect my new pair. Just add crocs to your gear list and you are good to go!”
“I wore them when the SF Bay water temperature dropped to 54F and below. They are not waterproof like your rainboots but they make huge difference on protecting your feet (therefore your body) from the cold water.”
“This Thermal Swim Sock is well constructed both inside and out. I purchased this sock thinking that it would be adequate for the 43 - 46 degrees Lake Washington water in the winter as part of my Open Water Swim gear. To my surprise, it did not hold up to that assumption. The water will seep into the sock even if one folds the wetsuit over the top of the sock. I conclude that some of the reviews will depend on where and when this product is being used as well as one's cold tolerant. My plan is to use this sock when Spring comes which will be perfect.”
“I like the fit of these socks. But I'm swimming in 46F water and need more warmth. I put the Blue Seventies on first then slip Synergy socks over them. When the water gets up in the high 50's this spring the Blue Seventies will be just fine.”
“I open water swim year round in the pacific. These socks cap keep my feet warm for the duration of my 2 mile swims. Bottom are durable too. Great product”
