After school football club Connaught
“My son had developed a late interest in football so thought a school club would be a good way to introduce him to football. Unfortunately it is purely matches played at the club each week. No training and so unless your child is good at football it is not an ideal choice. Understandably there the other children are frustrated with my son’s lack of skills so has been an upsetting situation for him so have paid for a term and he won’t be going anymore as it was supposed to be a fun way of him starting to play with his friends but this was the wrong choice.”

Girls football
“Coaches are great. Really work hard with my 2 girls. Unfortunately they’re the only 2 in the class no ability to play a proper game but the coaches manage to keep it varied and fun.”

Plus1 club
“Really impressed with this club, the convenience of ad-hoc last minute booking, a place for the kids to relax and chill with friends after school, very good value for money. Runs 10 minutes later than other clubs, so no trouble parking. My son enjoys and staff seem lovely. Perfect...!”
“Unfortunately our son came home very upset from his first time at football club, and currently doesn't want to return. As a year 3 pupil, he found it very intimidating just being thrown into a football match with years 4, 5 and 6, who then excluded the year 3 pupils. We asked if he'd learnt any skills, he said no they just played the football match, and that there was only 1 coach for all 4 year groups. Of course as a 7 year old, his perception of events is sometimes a little skewed, and we're hoping this was perhaps just a relaxed first session to get the lay of the land, but after a few weeks if he doesn't want to keep attending we obviously won't force him. As his parents we have no interest in football so there was no pressure from us to attend, but he loves it and was so excited for the club to start, so it was disappointing to see him come home so upset about it.”
