“I had a hard time getting it to come through the brush so I just dumped the powder into a normal powder container. It's more sparkly than I expected.”
Hi Jessica! We'd like to help make sure your brush is functioning properly, so a member of our team will reach out directly. In the meantime, please DO NOT pour your powder out of the applicator, the sunscreen is not meant to be a "dip" application. The powder needs to stay in the bristles in order to be applied onto the skin for proper sun protection, you should not expect it to puff out all over the place. “It's hard to tell if the product is "on," really. Sometimes I've been brushing it on as shown in the instructional videos, but I pull the brush back and there's no powder visible, so I flick it, and it sends powder down into my sink. I hate to make a mess and waste expensive product. I wish it was just like a makeup loose powder that I can be sure is applying.”
Hi Dana! I understand you are concerned about application, and thank you for taking the time to watch the instructional videos. It may take a little getting used to how our brushes work. The powder dispenses with the buffing motion as you apply it to your skin. You do not need to continue to shake your brush once it's primed.
Powder should not be present on the top of the bristles if you have just applied it. However if your brush is getting dirty you will likely see the powder starting to stick to the bristles but that means it's time for a cleaning so that the powder will continue to flow from the dispensing tube in the base of the bristles and onto your skin as you buff. We recommend a daily brush cleaner or wipe and then wash the bristles when it's time to refill.
