Hi Rebecca! Our brushes have a locking system to prevent spills, you can shake all day and it won't let powder out, but a quick turn of the powder reservoir will unlock the brush so powder will flow. Our box also has a QR code you may scan for instructions as well as on our site, and we'll also have a member of our team reach out by email to make sure you are able to get it working.

“I have been using the BOB 30 for several months now and have been pleased with the ease of coverage. To clarify, this is my everyday sunscreen where I know I'll only be doing errands and not long sun exposure. So I bought the BOB 50 to see how the powder does in more intense sun. I put it on my face, the tops of my arms and the top of my shoulders and neck while working in the yard. My face and arms were well protected, but I got a little burn on the back of my neck. I guess I will have to do a little more trial. I am so pleased that the applicator has a dark brush. My daughter got a very expensive brush-on brand, but the brush is white, so you can't be sure there is powder there.”
