BOB KIDS SPF 30 Brush On Mineral Sunscreen Reviews

3.8 Rating 211 Reviews
My son (7) actually looks forward to sunscreen application now! (To his face anyway) He loves the soft brush and the fact that the product isn’t slimy or sticky - just soft like powder. I use on Facebook , ears, and back of his neck above his rash guard.

Love the concept, but don’t like that my daughter and I can’t tell if the sunscreen in being applied or not. Seems like a recipe for a sunburn

Thank you for the feedback. Your concern is fairly common, and especially with children, as their skin is so smooth and perfect, it can be very hard to see the powder. Be sure to turn the brush into the OPEN position before you flicked it. The blue portion of the brush with the writing on it clicks to the left to open the brush and to the right to close. This helps prevent leakage and accidental spills. If you have done that, then the best way to see the powder is being applied is to start with the back of one of your hands. Buff the powder on your hand, just as you would on ½ of your child’s face (about 15 seconds, or two verses of Baby Shark and in a circular motion). After doing this, compare the back of your hand to your other hand. You will be able to see the difference, that means the powder is there. Be sure to reapply at least every two hours when your child is in the sun! Thank you! Brush On Block

I've only used this a few times, but it was super easy to apply and one of the times, my 1yo son didn't get a burn on his (very blonde, white) head, which was in the sun for about 25 minutes. Like it so far!

Didn’t work at all. We put on plenty - I applied it myself to be sure that it was well and liberally distributed - and the kids came back roasted like lobsters. Really disappointed.

Hi Victoria, we're so sorry you did not have a good experience with our Brush On Block products. There can be so many variables as to why that happened, and typically it's due to improper application or not being reapplied often enough. We would be happy to help work through the function and application of the product to ensure sufficient coverage if you like. We also have some tips and video demonstrations we can send you and we would be happy to chat with you on the phone. Thanks, Brush On Block

I couldn't figure out how to apply it, saw the twist to open, but can't tell if the product is actually coming through the brush. 3 stars for optimism but not a great first or second impression.

Thanks for your feedback. Our brushes can seem a little tricky at first, but then once people get the hang of it they usually love them, so we want to be sure you are familiar with how the brush "opens" so that powder can dispense. Our brushes are made with a locking system that keeps the brush from dispensing powder when you don't want it to, like when it's in your bag or purse. Please turn the brush into the OPEN position. The blue portion of the brush with the writing on it clicks to the left to open the brush and to the right to close. This helps prevent leakage and accidental spills. Once it's in the OPEN position, remove the purple cap, slide the blue bristle cover down and while holding onto the base give it a good couple of shakes/flicks of your wrist (like shaking an old thermometer). Then check for powder in the bristles. Here's a short video to demonstrate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoULoeluM6Q Thank you, Brush On Block

I’ve only been using it for about a week on my kids, but so far they love putting it on. Liquid sunscreens were a battle with my 3 y/o, but now he giggled while I apply it. It’s super easy, not greasy, no white tint on the skin and so far no sunburns or issues. The only thing that’s hard is knowing they’ve applied it everywhere since it is translucent. I definitely have to monitor and help apply the spots they don’t go over on their own. I’d definitely buy again.

No fuss application and it doesn't irritate my stepdaughter's extremely sensitive skin! We have tried a plethora of different sunscreens and this is by far her favorite
