“Have only used this a few times so far, but it seems to work well. My daughter is much happier having this applied instead of a liquid that sometimes gets into her eyes.”
Hi Kara, if you are applying to an adult, a great way to check your coverage is to first be sure your brush is flowing. Then apply for about 15 seconds to the back of one hand. As you compare your hands, you should notice that one is less red, more matte and maybe veins are less visible. That's the coverage you want!
See this blog post for more tips on applying:

“I love how easy a brush is for kids- it makes applying sunscreen fun! That being said when open, I had a very hard time to get the powder to come to the brush end of the brush. Fully open, shaking, brushing, tapping, and there was no visible powder visible in the brush. I was able to finally get the powder to the brush to apply to my kids and myself. I don't see it on their skin but I can see it on the bristles of the brush when I did get it to come out so I know that they are fully applied. It comes out a little dusty as you brush it on so you can see that you are actually applying it which I liked since you can't see it on their pale skin.”
“Love this product! I used it on my kids for a week at the beach and water park and no sin burns!! I wish they sold it in a larger size bc I used it on their arms, neck, and body too. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that it was a bit difficult to get the product to come out at first. Once it got going it was easy peasy though!! LOVE IT!”
“Cannot get the powder to come out of the brush no matter how hard I shake or tap it. Disappointed, I had high hopes for this product. If customer service follows through on their reviews, I would appreciate a replacement that actually works.”
“Do not recommend. For the price - this is not worth it at all. The tube doesn't work - I had to bang it on the counter to get a small puff of power out. I was finally able to get enough out to cover my son's face but he still ended up getting burnt. I wrote to customer support and they were barely apologetic and told me I had to send it back in order to get a refund. They couldn't just give me my money back for selling a product that doesn't work? No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere.”
Hi Ashley, we are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. We ask you to send the product back so that we can determine if the brush was defective, and pass the concern along to our manufacturer. We can't improve if we don't understand the issue, so we appreciate your assistance with this. We will happily send you a brush that we know works if you email us at info@brushonblock.com, and we'll include a label that you can return the defective brush to us at no charge.
