I waited 6 months for this nearly $180 (delivered) keyboard. It was not worth the wait. It gets stars for: 1. Having all the keys - media, Siri, etc. 2. Backlighting Unfortunately the keyboard itself is pretty terrible. It is soft and requires a lot of force to make sure the keys are registered. My typing speed with accuracy has fallen off a cliff since switching to this from my Apple Smart Keyboard. It is particularly bad at picking up capitalization. In this short paragraph alone, it has failed to register the shift key 5 times, causing me to have to go back and make a correction. I am literally banging on the keys to make sure that the register, and every time I press the shift key, I have to pause and hold it. The caps lock key NEVER registers on the first press, always requires two hits or pressing and holding. They would have been much better off using chiclet style keys with less travel and crisper response. These keys - if you have experienced this - feel just like the keys on the $20 Dell BT keyboards that we have at our public kiosks. Cheap, inaccurate, frustrating. I had a colleague type on the keyboard for a minute, and his first words were “Oh, it feels just like the junky Dells!”. Yes Robert, yes it does. But it is, no kidding, 8x the price of those. It’s a keyboard. It should excel at typing. Not only does it NOT excel, it does not even succeed. Other gripes: * The hinge mechanism raises the base off the table, higher and higher as the screen tilts past 90 degrees, so that it is less stable. For me, with my screen typically tilted around 125 degrees, that means the right side of my base is always not-quite touching any surface, so it wobbles and bangs on the table when I type, unless I keep a palm resting on the base. In 6 months, Brydge could not design a hinge that does not cause the base to become unstable? * Using BT over Smart Connector was dumb, since they included a magnetic cover that literally touches the Smart Connector! Connect your cover to the base, and you don’t need Bluetooth! That would be forgivable if they keyboard wasn’t terrible. * For a substandard typing experience, it is HEAVY. I say this seriously: I have a Keytron K1 mechanical keyboard on my desk for my iMac. It types like a dream. It is BT and wired compatible, with 19 color schemes for the backlighting. It weighs less, and only cost $80. This thing is going into a drawer, maybe forever, while I go back to my less functional Apple Smart Keyboard that provides a much better actual typing experience despite being uglier not having backlighting.

Waited so long for this keyboard and I want to love it but unfortunately it did not come with the protective cover that was promised when I preordered in January . There is also a significant lag. I have to press certain keys several times in order for them to work. Hoping this can be fixed without me having to wait another 4 months for a replacement :(

The newest iPad Pros are games changers to say the least. The Apple keyboard released alongside them wasn’t. So I was happy to pre-order the Brydge for my 11” Pro. The keyboard is great so far. Solid, everything you’d expect from an Apple product except for the fact that it isn’t an Apple keyboard. My main issues were: #1: The wait. I frequently upgrade Apple products as they are released, but the wait on this accessory is roughly halfway through the most current iPad product cycle. #2: Charged for shipping. I can’t remember the last time I paid for shipping on an item $150+... at least build it into the price so it seems like we are getting shipping for free. #3: Having to pay in full upfront at the pre-order. I have never paid up front for any pre-order that was not a crowd funded project. Sure, its a solid keyboard. However the above issues almost made me reconsider entirely, and surely will if I make another purchase from this com

I just received my 12.9” Brydge keyboard for my 2018 iPad. I love it. The keyboard feels great. I was concerned about missed key strokes with Bluetooth, but that’s not the case. it seems to respond perfectly. The keyboard and iPad are perfectly balanced. It really feels like I’m using a MacBook. I’m experimenting with using JunpDesktop and a SwiftPoint GT mouse for remote access to my Mac and a Windows computer. It seems to work well. I wish there was a trackpad. That is the first thing that you will reach for after setting up your keyboard. I highly recommend the keyboard. While it adds weight (about the same as the iPad), it needs to be that heavy in order to balance the setup, otherwise it will fall backwards. It seems to work well and is nicely balanced. The only issue I see is that the included magnetic cover seems to add just enough extra weight to cause the setup to fall backwards when the screen is tilted back. Not a big deal, but for now, I am leaving the cover off. The keyboard comes packaged well and is very nicely done. Seems like an Apple product. I wish it hadn’t taken 6 months to arrive, but I guess good things are worth the weight. I was concerned that I might damage my iPad while I weighted for the keyboard to arrive. The things I really like are the keyboard responsiveness. I also like the controls included such as volume and brightness and backlight. I overall weight isn’t that bad. Feels like a MacBook. I teach and like that I can quickly convert the setup to a tablet that I can carry around in the classroom. If Apple adds mouse/trackpad support with iOS 13 and Brydge adds a trackpad, this will be a perfect device. In the meantime. I’m using the SwiftPointGT mouse with JumpDesktop.

Finally, I have my Brydge. The Apple Smart Keyboard Cover was adequate, and the Logitech Slim Folio was better, but the Brydge is by far the best. The design and build quality are on par with Apple. It’s not an add on; it’s part of the iPad.

The keyboard keys are fantastic. I don like the way the keyboard fits the 11 inch iPad. It’s crooked, the iPad slides around in the holders and it doesn’t seem to fit well. I like the previous 10,5 inch keyboard very much. I’d like to see an 11 inch keyboard option with edges that are beveled. This doesn’t feel secure in my hands.

I love my keyboard. I received it recently and have been using it non-stop. The quality on this is unprecedented, as the color matching is nearly identical, the key strike is satisfying, and the feel is top notch. This also increases my productivity on a device that I absolutely love. If you are looking for a keyboard for your new ipad pro, I highly recommend this one!!

Although the wait was a bit long and communication from the company was lacking, this is definatly the best keyboard I have used so far. It does add a good deal of weight, but using it for the first day seemed very natural. Keys feel good, intergration with IOS is done well, and is very solid. The magnetic back cover looks good, but does seem to slide around alot. Definatly a big step to using my ipad in place of my laptop.
