Let me start off by saying I understand we’re in a global pandemic with supply chain issues. Transparency however goes a long way! When I finally received my order I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the case… blown away! It’s a bit bulky, almost feels like it was designed for military use, which I like. Great product I recommend highly, don’t hold your breath though on shipping dates!

Love the idea of this thing! Hate “pecking” at the screen so I use dictation a lot, however, there’s a time and a place. Don’t want to be the guy in the coffee shop yelling at my iPad. For that reason, the keyboard and trackpad is great! Very responsive and well built, in fact, the entire product seems to be very solid and well built. The trade off there is that it’s pretty heavy. Not unusable heavy, but you definitely notice that you’re carrying it. Quick overview of the features I like… 1) Love the fact that I can simply snap off the iPad from the keyboard, much like the apple version, however, with Brydge I still have the protection of a case on the iPad. Very clever. 2) The magnet holding the independent case to the keyboard is strong, easy to apply and offers a satisfying “snap” sound when placing it on the keyboard. 3) As easy as it is to apply the ipad to the keyboard, it’s just as easy to remove. There is a well placed tab on the right side of the ipad that allows you to easily pop the ipad off of the keyboard. 4) Fully functional, backlit keyboard with good action. 5) Trackpad is responsive and offers a number of shortcut features. Ok, now what I’m not so crazy about… 1) It is a bit heavy. Again, not “deal breaker” or “get back to the gym” heavy, but it will take a bit of getting used to. One of the biggest appeals for me (and I’m sure many others) of the ipad is it’s small, lightweight package, power and capability. Adding the Brydge (or any other keyboard style case for that matter) to the ipad and you’ve got to ask… should I just purchase the smallest MacBook Pro available?) 2) And this one is a big one, I’d LOVE to see the hinge holding the screen capable of a full 180! The keyboard is great when needed, but when I’m not using it, I’d love to forget it’s there! Having a 180 degree hinge would allow me to place the keyboard behind the ipad when I have no need for the keyboard but still need it to be elevated. It would also eliminate the need to remove the iPad from the case when I’m in situations that I’m not able to hold or set down the keyboard portion of the case. That brings me to 3) Currently, the hing doesn’t have much range of motion when tilting it away from the keyboard. It’s beyond a 45 degree angle, but can’t be by much. I’d love the ability to select a larger range of angles. 4) Seems like for the cost of this thing it could have came with a charging cable. Just sayin’. As the title indicates, I have only just received this case a few hours ago. I plan to use it exclusively for the next couple of weeks and plan to update my review at that time. Last quick note… Brydge has been great to work with! One of their reps, Andrew, is on point and seems to truly care about the customer and their experience. Keep up the good work Andrew! More to come…

A brilliant product. Love the ruggedness of the poly carb shell and having confidence in the drop protection. It feels like I can throw it in a backpack with no concerns. The iPad snaps in and out easily but doesn’t feel like its at any risk of falling out. HUGE fan of the function keys and not having to go into the settings menu to change things like screen brightness. The trackpad works really well with no noticeable lag. Keys feel crisp when pushed and the layout is easy to type on with minimal adjustment for touch typing. Battery life is impressive. Has been used for 4 days since new and still never been charged since unboxing. Battery still over 50%. So far I can’t fault it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get more out of their iPad and shrink the gap between iPad and laptop.
