Turns any Apple iPad into a fully functional laptop! I couldn’t be more happy with the Brydge Keyboard. It is the perfect size to haul around all day and holds the iPad perfectly in place with lots of protection.

Received the BRYDGE in the mail today. Could not get the download upgrade for the BRYDGE. I couldn’t get the power to boot up the BRYDGE. Gonna need a replacement. Mark Petersen Jaxgoldeneagles@gmail.com, 864-941-7422

So far, I’m happy with the Keyboard/Case for my iPad 4 Air. The reason for only 4 stars is because shipping was pathetic. Brydge notified me Monday (ordered Friday) order shipped. In reality, it was accepted and shipped 5 days “after” the Monday email. Then the “free” shipping offer was through the Post Office. Well, even though I live in the same state it was shipped from, order ended up going through two more states before finally getting to me 9 additional days later. Needless to say, delivery estimates kept changing leaving me with no idea when I would actually get the order. I contacted Brydge, but never got a response. This resulted in a total order time of 3-1/2 weeks. I’m left feeling very disappointed with the experience, only made worse by the fact Brydge never got back to me after my inquiry. In the event I end up having a problem with the item, I certainly hope this is not the norm for Brydge.

Please Note: This won't show as Verified Purchase as this was purchased on Amazon.com from Brydge I own the Brydge 11 Max + for my 2021 iPad Pro M1 and it’s simply fantastic. My review for it can be found on the product listing for the Brydge 11 Max + page here. This review is for the Brydge Air Max + which can be used on iPad Air 4/5 or iPad Pro 11 - 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation. I bought this for my partner who needs a hard shell case on his iPad and uses the iPad as a tablet more than he uses it to type on. Brydge to the rescue. I believe no one, I repeat, NO ONE builds better keyboards for iPad than Brydge. AS is the case with APP Brydge Keyboards, they come beautifully packaged, with minimal extras. You get the keyboard, hard shell case for the iPad and a very minimal user guide. Setting up the keyboard for use with your iPad is truly easy. Simply put your iPad in the hard shell case, which is really lightweight, but feels extremely durable. It’s got a nice, textured back, which so far seems to not show fingerprints. And the case is Anti-Microbial which will help keep the spread of germs at bay. In these days of Pandemics, that’s a very nice touch. You’ll want to charge the keyboard first. It’s USB-C (charging cord not included), but since you already own either an iPad Air 4 or 5 or iPad Pro 11, you already have a USB-C Charging cord and plug. It can take up to three hours to fully charge the keyboard, but once charged, the keyboard can run for up to 3 months on a single charge. Things which can lessen that would be using the excellent backlit keys all the time or typing for hours each day. Next, you’ll want to pair the keyboard with your iPad. Simply press and hold the Bluetooth key (next to the power button) until the power button blinks blue. Then open Settings on your iPad, tap Bluetooth and look for the Brydge Air Max +. Tap it there and a box opens to pair. Tap pair and boom you’re paired. One of the great things about the newest generation Brydge Keyboards is they can be updated over the air. You will want to download the Brydge Connect app to your iPad and use the app to update your keyboard. It’s very easy and out of the box, the keyboard did need an update to the newest version. You follow the directions easily on the screen. Of note: Once updated, you do need to unpair the keyboard from your iPad, restart your iPad, then pair it again for the update to be fully complete. Let’s talk about the keyboard. Afterall, it’s really the star of the show. The top row of keys on the keyboard are Function Keys. There’s a home key, a lock screen key, adjust the iPad screen brightness key, adjust the backlit keys from low-medium-bright, turn the volume of music up or down and fast forward or rewind video. I can’t tell you how wonderful function keys are! The glass trackpad on this keyboard is as terrific as the glass trackpad on the Apple Magic Keyboard, which by the way costs $150 more than this Brydge Keyboard. Gestures work perfectly, such as opening Today View, Opening the App Switcher, Going Home, Switching between open apps, scrolling up or down, opening Control Center, Zooming in or out and opening Search. Whew. You can do it all with this trackpad and then some. Nothing matters if the typing experience isn’t great. This is one area Brydge has ALWAYS excelled. Typing on the keyboard is very satisfying and key travel rivals any high-end keyboard. For example, it feels a great on the Brydge as it does on my very expensive HP Spectre Laptop. It simply doesn’t get better than this. The overall package is extremely well made, albeit a bit generic looking. It’s an all-black case design, which is perhaps the only knock I can give it. If you wanted to see the pretty color of the iPad Air you bought, you’re not going to see it here. But if you are looking for an extremely well built keyboard case, this total package is simply awesome and worth every penny it costs. In fact it’s a far better value over the Apple Magic Keyboard, which costs considerably more and provides no protection for the iPad itself, has no function keys and honestly, doesn’t feel as well made or complete as this Brydge Air Max + does.

The ONLY thing I wish was that the iPad cover had an Apple Pencil slot so i can keep everything together and not worry about losing my pencil. My iPad feels complete now. I didn’t think I would enjoy using an ipad as a laptop and now I use it more than my work laptop for everything, including spreadsheets and design work. Love it

Love this thing. Certainly a well made piece for the IPad. The keyboard and track pad are great. Would be 5 stars if lighter. The entire unit (keyboard, IPad and the removable case) together takes the “Air” and makes it much heavier. Perhaps an aluminum version at some point to drop some oz?
