“First a note on Brydge's support - my first keyboard arrived with a bad key that would only respond when struck hard from the right side - support was great about exchanging it and I'm typing on the replacement now. The construction is excellent, Apple level build quality. With such a small size, compromises had to be made on certain key functions to keep the main keys nearly full size, for the most part I'm ok with these, but I do wish there was a real tab key rather than requiring ctrl+caps lock, would be useful to me for both coding and writing, and some keyboard shortcuts require it (e.g. switching tabs in Safari requires ctrl+tab, which isn't possible when the ctrl modifier is needed to get a bare tab) This is a fairly minor concern though. The BrydgeMini has transformed my iPad into a more capable mini-laptop type device and I'm happy with my decision to purchase it.”

“This device deserves 5 stars . . . but it just falls short of perfect in a couple of areas. First, the good stuff. It looks top notch. I ordered the space grey to go with my mini, and I defy you to spot a difference in colour, texture, feel etc. Really good job there guys! Yes, I know that's shallow, but let's face it; looks are an important part of any Apple purchase! Build quality is excellent: solid, robust feel to the device as soon as it's unwrapped. It's actually heavier than the mini, but that means that no matter what angle the screen is at, it sits solidly on the surface - no tipping! The keyboard is pretty good. I had no problem with the half-width key, but I found the reduced size of the number "1" key awkward. Otherwise good response and feedback. The hinges have a lovely grip on the mini and a really good resistance to moving. No matter what angle, that baby is not gonna move unless you want it to - fabulous. The hinges also raise the keyboard to a comfortable angle for typing, so another plus there. So, what are the issues? well, first, those hinges. They seat the iPad very low in relation to the keyboard so from most angles the 1st mm or so of the screen is obscured. It also means that there is no way to access the control centre, which was a biggy for me because I use it a lot.. However, because the grip on the iPad is so assured, I was able to just raise the device in the grips a smidgin, and got around the issue that way. It would be good if there was a function key stroke that activated the 'swipe up for control panel". Another more minor gripe is that there is a small delay to the first keyboard stroke if you've left the machine alone for any time. The lag is enough that you do need to check that the first character you type has been picked up. A final swipe - there is pitiful documentation provided online. I found that there are lots of special characters I can type on the keyboard using the function key, but NOWHERE is this documented. Trial and error in this day and age is just not good enough. However, I am more than happy with the device overall. I dispaired when Logitec did not provide a keyboard for the iPad Mini 4, but I think this turned out to be a blessing in disguise since I found the Brydge”

“The only problem with the keyboard when sending messages tru FB; the send key is too low to access and you have to full up the iPad mini to access completely to send messages. The number 1/! Key is too small or conjested and it would be nice if The delete key is proportionally The same with the 1/! Key. Otherwise, it is helpful in typing works than using with your fingers in taping syllables.”

“There was nothing in the box only the keyboard, no directions, no cords.... Now trying to figure out how to make this expensive piece of equipment work without directions and cords”

“This is an excellent addition for my Mini 4 the case fits perfectly and all the normal buttons are accessible. The keyboard is well laid out and pairs with the iPad no problem at all. I have a form of Motor Neurone Disease and find using the keyboard so much easier than the on screen keyboard for general typing and when I have to use my augmented speech app.”
