The covers are nice, the feedback I received is that they are heavier than the standard keyboard/covers. The quality of the keyboard is impressive on the Surface, it feels more durable.

It changes the surface pro 4 in to more of a laptop. Works great for me. Especially when using on your lap.

I didn't use my Surface Pro as much as I would have liked, mainly because the kickstand was awkward to work with on my lap, in bed, or any other time a flat surface was not nearby. I needed a more traditional setup, like a laptop. The Brydge keyboard was the perfect solution!

I've used the Brydge 12.3 keyboard with a Surface Pro 3 for about 2 months now and couldn't be more pleased. The keyboard compliments the SP perfectly. The weight is significant, but that's what allows it to hold the SP without falling over, so not really an issue. The performance is great. I have yet to have to charge the battery after the initial charge, which is fantastic! The keys have a solid feel to them. The trackpad is my only issue (as many others have commented about). It's VERY sensitive. Trying to left or right click almost always results in the mouse moving, so the click doesn't register. This can be avoided by using 2 fingers, i.e. keep one on the mouse section of the trackpad to keep it steady, and use another finger to right or left click. While this works reliably, it's a minor annoyance to have to do that. I normally use a separate mouse anyway, so I just disable the trackpad. It would be nice if Brydge would change the firmware to set those sections of the trackpad to not move the mouse, which would resolve the issue. However, I know that would result in a small section of the trackpad being unusable for mouse movements. This is a "Catch-22" that could have been better implemented with separate buttons for right and left clicking. For me, the trackpad issue is far outweighed by all the other aspects of the keyboard. I also have the Microsoft Type Cover keyboard, which I bought when I originally got the Surface Pro. While it's lighter than the Brydge, it's almost impossible to use on your lap. I also dislike that the Type Cover has only one position setting, while the Brydge is infinitely adjustable. Overall - VERY HAPPY. This is a great add on product for the Surface Pro.

This is by far the best keyboard on the market for the SP4 but the hinges make it impossible to USS any protective cases. When you spend the money on the SP4 you must protect your investment. So while the keyboard is great it's worthless if you can't use it due to it being a liability. BRYDGE won't buy you a new SP4 if you drop it and it breaks. They have been claiming they are going to be making a case for some time now... This shouldn't be an after thought. It's obviously a easy money maker as most who buy the keyboard WILL buy the case as long as the price is fair... No brainer.

Im impressed with the OEM look and feel to the keyboard, its setup was seamless, i also like the feel of the keys, good tactile feel to them. It really does make the surface look and act like a laptop. My only gripe is that the weight of the battery really adds to the weight of the surface, and therefore overall it over doubles the weight of the device.

If you want a keyboard for the Surface Pro 4 that makes it a truly "lapable" laptop replacement, this is the best option on the market. The Brydge 12.3 is a high quality keyboard that's comfortable to use and has a great battery life. The grips that hold the screen in place are excellent: secure, while making it easy to remove the tablet without fear of damage. The track pad is a good size and well-placed. I very rarely have a problem with accidentally moving my cursor with my palm as I do on some other keyboards of this style. My major complaint is that the track pad requires quite a lot of force to click, so much force that I have a difficult time clicking a specific area without using two hands. This might be more forgivable if it responded well to double-tapping instead of clicking, but I rarely get it to work well in under 3 tries, and usually I just give up and do the awkward steady the pointer with one hand and click with the other. I've seen other reviewers that complained about the sharp lip around the edge of the track pad. I find it noticeable but not bothersome, so YMMV. Overall, it's a still a best in class product that I would (and do) recommend to anyone looking for a great SP4 laptop experience, but I find it mind-blowing that a company that specializes in keyboards isn't doing track pads better. My only other complaint (and one that I knew I'd have when I bought it, so no stars off for this) is the lack of SP4 compatible cases. If you weren't swapping back and forth between a tablet and a laptop experience constantly, why would you buy a SP4/Brydge set up to begin with? There are far cheaper standard laptops at this price point. No one in their right mind is going to carry around the SP4 in tablet mode sans-case, and having to stop and put on a case (assuming you can find one that comes on and off quickly without risking damage to the SP4 in the process) is enough of a hassle to prevent me from using my Brydge during the work week when I'm mostly either taking notes in tablet mode or using my Microsoft dock for a full desktop experience. I know Brydge has a case listed as "coming soon" on their website that's supposed to address this problem, but it's been coming soon for a while and the SP4 is not a new device. Compatible cases should be a priority for the company, not an after thought.
