I have used this product for three days. This device is well made. Although heavier that I thought, it feels very sturdy and makes my surface pro 4 look more like a super cool laptop. However, I have to issues: 1. The key sensitivity is not as good as I want it to be. My surface pro occasionally misses my typing when I type fast. I have to slow down my typing to make sure if everything is typed well. It could be my surface pro issue, but at least I have not had this issue until I use Bridge keyboard. 2. The bigger issue is more onto the design flaw. When I close the surface pro, I notice that pixels around hinges change colors. It is apparently because the hinge put pressures onto the screen when I apply the force to close it (I am a mechanical engineer). It bothers me and gives me some concerns that it may cause mechanical failures on the LCD panel around hinges after using the keyboard for a while. The hinge parts should be redesigned to avoid this potential problem. Hope my feedback helps Brydge improve the design.

The keyboard is excellent. Good size. Nice feel. The shortcut keys for all the standard things (volume, brightness, etc) are exactly what you expect. I have not figured out how to do a function lock so I can use the function keys by default. It holds the screen position well and allows much more flexibility in its use. It adds a serious amount of weight to the device, the rubber pieces stick out quite a bit on the keyboard (protects the screen from resting on the keyboard), the rubber pieces on the bottom of the hinge piece do not engage with the desk early enough so you need to hold the keyboard in place or it slides around before it fully opens, and the edges are very sharp (edges on the bottom of the keyboard and around the trackpad). Where it really falls short is the mouse. Even though it is a touch screen device, I have several programs that don't work well with touch (CAD programs mostly) and I need a good trackpad. The trackpad is too small. I am continually lifting my fingers off and shifting them to move the cursor. It also suffers from the same mechanical issue as the type cover. When I click and drag, the button releases about 1/2" from the top edge of the trackpad. I cannot use the all of the small trackpad making it seem even smaller. I am a little concerned that when I close the tablet with the keyboard attached, the hinge puts some pressure on the left side of the screen. I can see some "rainbowing" on the screen as the hinge presses down on the screen. The Surface slides on and off fairly easily and when the system is closed, the fit is tight but again, I wish that the edges were rounded over and not so sharp. The keyboard is made of two pieces screwed together and the fit on my unit is okay. There are obvious gaps where the two pieces meet. I pre-ordered this months ago with no prior experience with the other keyboards. If I had tried it in the store before buying, I probably wouldn't have bought it. At least not for the price I paid.

Pre-ordered this back in February and got it today. Keyboard feels awesome and the track pad is very responsive. Greatest keyboard ever made. I hated my surface pro until I bought this thing. Now I will keep my surface pro 3 and for now on, I'll only use SP3's and SP4's now that this product has hit the market.

After owning the Brydge 12.3 for the Surface Pro 3 & 4 - it is a great keyboard! Built with premium aluminium material chassis with nice key switches that are enjoyable to type on. The Trackpad has a glass surface for smooth scrolling and navigation. However the trackpad is very irritating to use. It requires more force than usual to click down on the trackpad and when tap selecting - you can hear the mechansim of the trackpad rattle. For those who have a tempered glass protector on their surface pro devices, you may require to take off the protector for smoother operation with the equipping the surface pro to the keyboard stage. The rubber shims and hinge is designed for perfect fit and tempered glass protectors adds a small layer of height - which causes the stage when equipping the Surface Pro to the keyboard a bit more stiffer than usual. At the end of the day, this keyboard is terrific and I am happy to bring it along with me to my freelance photography work places. Built quality is so much better than the original surface pro type covers + you can finally type on your lap without awkwardly using the kickstand on the SP!

I love the keyboard, turns a Surface Pro 4 into an Surface Book for the fraction of the cost. Only a couple of things i have issues with. 1. I wish the track pad was a glass surface like the type covers. 2. The clamps that hold the Surface distort the corns of the screen when pushed down to close, also notice a little bit of distortion when it's sitting in the keyboard. I feel like it's a bit to tight on the corners, i just hope this doesn't damage the screen.

I just received my Brydge 12.3 and I couldn't be happier. Honestly I had stopped using my surface just because I found it inconvenient to use when I wanted to sit in an armchair and browse the web. Also using it on a plane was difficult because the kickstand required too much space to allow my keyboard to sit on the tray table. Now that is no longer a problem with my new Brydge 12.3. I'm sitting in an armchair and browsing comfortably. Also I can imagine the Surface/Brydge combo will be so much easier to use than my 15" mac on a plane. As for form and function the quality is spectacular. When you are used to just the Surface and type cover you will find the Surface/Brydge combo to be heavier than you would suspect, yet lighter than other laptops. The quality of the keyboard and hinges is awesome. The touchpad seems small but is very responsive and gets the cursor across the screen very efficiently so you aren't constantly doing multiple trips across the touchpad to point to something on your screen. The Brydge also looks amazing, my wife thought I bought a new laptop! Great job guys, I never thought I'd spend $150 plus on a keyboard but this literally turned my rarely used tablet into my go to laptop!

I pre-ordered it, based on a FB ad. I usually don't do that. I usually need to physically see something or go a buy it directly. Although I have only had is less than 24 hours, it is the best keyboard for my surface. Only time will tell how it holds up. but the construction is solid. 5 Stars All the way.

For the amount of time this took to come out, it should be far more refined. The keyboard is "ok", but key travel seems long and unnecessarily stiff. The trackpad is another story. I don't want to say that it's garbage, because I've had worse, but it is far from what I would expect from a product that is otherwise designed well. The click is far too firm, sensitivity is far too low, and right click basically doesn't work at all (maybe 1 in 4 times). The trackpad surface itself is a problem and seems to be a bit "sticky" at times. I don't know if most of these issues are drivers or hardware, but it ruins an otherwise brilliant product. The fact that this keyboard turns the Surface Pro into a fully lap-able device is the main reason I'm giving it 3 stars, even with the shortcomings. Maybe version 2.0 will be better?
