I had been using my Surface for about a year and was quite pleased with it. Fast, compact and light. But the Brydge 12.3 makes even more functional. It is actually useable as a true laptop. Kickstands are fine for tables, knees.. not so much. Backliit keys are great for low light conditions and battery life is phenomenal.

Three pesky issues block a 5-star rating for this keyboard, although it is a vast improvement over the native KB, which I would rate a 2 and the premium native KB, which I would rate a 3. Issue 1: Would love to see floating keys on the keyboard (like Logitech), rather than stamped cut-outs in the faceplate to capture keys. Every stroke you encounter the hard edge of the cut-out. Issue 2: Would also love to see the détente for "opening" the keyboard on the sides and front. With the heft of the Surface Pro 4 and the resistance of the strong Brydge hinges, it is awkward at best to open a closed unit. Locating the détente about 1/3 aft of the leading edge along the side would provide amore intuitive and comfortable way to open the assembly. Issue 3: Bluetooth can be a little wonky with the touchpad. A USB radio dongle would smooth this issue out, but it is manageable if you adjust your pointer speed just right.

I bought this keyboard after my surface stopped recognizing the Microsoft keyboard that I bought with it. I tried Microsoft technical support and I brought it to a Microsoft store. No fix and really no help at all from Microsoft, I searched online and the Brydge Keyboard got good reviews. Very happy with this product, much better than the one Microsoft sells. Very well made. I do not like the Surface as a pure tablet, so this works out great for me.

Sleek. Much better than the ones Microsoft make.

Keyboard working perfectly. Attached and paired immediately. One point that Brydge didn't advertise is that using a keyboard that has it's own battery extends the Surface Pro's battery life even more.

I have the one with the SSD and really love it. The keyboard is very responsive and the extra storage is nice for my Surface Pro.
