I’ve had this unit for a couple of weeks now. I use this on the go and there’s a lot about this unit I really like, a couple of things that could use some improving, and some things I’d like to see them do to this type of keyboard that would make it outstanding. Overall though, I do like this keyboard. I like that it’s weighted in such a way that it will hold my surface pro 7 like a laptop. That’s something I never quite liked about the Microsoft keyboard. The down side is it does add weight and thickness. The one “issue” I’ve had with this keyboard is with the connection. This unit connects to my surface via Bluetooth and because of this connection type there are times that it doesn’t automatically connect to my surface and times where when it has connected the responsiveness of the mouse is less than acceptable. However, there have also been times where the mouse has impressed me. This aspect seems to be hit and miss. I’m sure there’s a really good reason companies can’t use the physical connection on the bottom of the Surface, but if they could, I know it would fix this issue. I also wish the power wasn’t turned on by pressing keys on the keyboard; I wish it were an actual switch. The reason is I’ve had the keyboard turn on while in my backpack thus turning on my surface which drains the battery. If it was a switch, this would be less likely. A couple of things I’d love to see them do with this unit are build a battery into the unit that can be connected to the surface for external power and a slot for a Micro SD for external memory expansion. Since I’m on the go all the time I have to carry an additional battery pack with me. Having a keyboard with a battery built in would be nice. I know it’ll add more weight but would totally be worth it as I already have to carry the external battery along with the keyboard. If it had the battery, the connection would most likely be connected via the USB-C on the Surface Pro 7 but connecting through proprietary port would work too and both would allow for charging and either a connection for an external SD card reader or additional USB/USB-C ports. All around I’m happy with this purchase and do recommend it. The one thing that really keeps me from giving a full 5 stars is due to the mouse trackpad being hit and miss with it’s responsiveness, but again, that’s to be expected with anything over BT.

Loved my Brydge 12.3, but this upgrade keeps all that I love and cranks the knob to 11! The Brydge 12.3 Pro+ and my Surface Pro 7 are still thinner than most laptops. The Surface is held firmly and yet removes easier. The improved hinges are great! The enlarged touchpad really becomes a true useable interface rather than a nice feature. This thing sips energy! Already a month in and still on its initial charge. Great job with this upgrade. Can't wait to see what is next!!

Battery life is nowhere near the six months that they claim with normal use. My units battery lasts 3 to 5 days at best. Are use it less than one hour combined daily. It is a great keyboard, however, I also have trouble keeping it connected to my surface via Bluetooth. Many times I have to turn Bluetooth off and back

Love the keyboard, love how the Surface mounts to it and it all feels now like a proper laptop. The only knock is the track pad. Does not have the accuracy of a mouse. I tried for over a week, but I just had to go back to an external mouse.

Amazing solution to the not so friendly Surface Pro kick stand. Adds a little extra weight, but worth it to have a true laptop feel. Bluetooth key response is right on. The keyboard holds the screen exactly where you want it and stays balanced. Great Design! Highly Recommend!

The keyboard build quality is solid and typing feel is Good. My surface seems a little loose on one end though when attached to the keyboard.

I've read reviews of the previous version of the Brydge Keyboard for the surface. People had mentioned that the clamping portion that hold the screen was applying too much pressure on the screen and they were concerned for the screen. This keyboard definitely does not have that issue. The "clamps" are perfectly design for the Surface Pro and have a rubber lining to ensure that the grid is solid and there isn't any undue pressure on the screen. It's very easy to remove from the clamps and insert it again. The surface is also perfectly balanced with the keyboard. It's center of gravity ensures that when on my desk or on my lap it remains upright and very well balanced. It's also easy to adjust the viewing angle and have the surface stay at that viewing angle. I love my surface, especially for it's tablet mode and this keyboard allows it to turn into the perfect on-the-go laptop.

Short version: After nearly two weeks or use can confirm that this is a massive upgrade to my already awesome Surface Pro 2017. Great key travel, balance between keyboard portion and tablet. Checks all the boxes for being a laptop-ish. Long: I love my Surface Pro and the tech flex it has as my daily driver. However over the past couple of years found the kickstand increasingly difficult to simply sit on my lap in various situations (just as designed with kickstand.) So of course The Google was my first place to query a solution that might exists to make the Surface more lap friendly. After looking up alternatives to the already great Alcantara Surface POGO keyboard, discovered Brydge shortly after they announced an "updated" version of its first keyboard iteration. So I signed up for the pre-orders and received it recently. At first I loved it and after two weeks can confirm it wasn't just unboxing buzz, but this is a legit piece of hardware. Kudos to the Brydge team as I feel this checks all the boxes. - Key travel is great! A bit better than the POGO keyboard. Solid - trackpad is roughly the same as the POGO keayboard which is great. - Solid and sturdy build - Lit keys - Keyboard size very similar to POGO - Hinges are rock solid, secure and easy to insert/move the Surface freely To be aware of - Heavier than expected, but makes sense as to compliment the top heavy Surface. So it does keep balance very well and doesnt tip over - Aesthetics add additional thickness to overall footprint, but still very thin
