I have loved he concept of the Surface since its inception, and have owned several models. My most recent purchase of was a new Surface Pro 5 at a great closeout price. Of course, I immediately purchased the Microsoft Surface keyboard cover, but then I saw this model on sale for a price less than what I paid for the Microsoft. I have admired the Brydge approach on other devices, but instantly saw its utility on the Surface and ordered one. I could not be more pleased. What a perfect compliment to the Surface! I don't have to have a desktop or table to prop the device on while typing. It is a huge boost to the usability of the Surface as I am now able to use it in my lap, or while lying in bed or reclining on a couch. I have had no Bluetooth connectivity issues and the keyboard is a delight to use. It is much quieter than its Microsoft counterpart. I got the silver model becuase I thought the color was a nice compliment to the Surface and I love the look. The only sacrifice for me was the added weight, but I will keep the Microsoft as a backup if I really need to travel light. Am I careful when mounting or removing the tablet from the clips? Of course. But if properly done, I see no danger to the screen. Well done, Brydge!

I've been using the brydge 12.3+ since it's release. I had a screen protector and D brand vinyl skin on my surface pro 7 and it required some effort to get it into place. It was tight but it didn't seem to cause any discoloration of the screen but after awhile I noticed it was clamping hard enough to cause the screen edges to warp from the pressure. After 8 months or so the middle of my touchscreen stopped working and I can only imagine it was due to the clamps on the keyboard as I have babied this laptop. This is not a flaw of the keyboard it was my own fault as it was designed for the exact dimensions of the surface pro without the added screen protector and vinyl backing. I have since been given a replacement surface pro as I returned it under warranty and with no vinyl skin or screen protector on the surface pro, it slides in like butter and doesn't cause excessive clamping pressure. I will say that I notice my screen gets distorted at the edges if closing the device with the keyboard attached (opening is not issue as the pressure is placed on the aluminum on the back). I will update if I have any more issues but I love the keyboard and being able to use the surface as fully realized laptop compared to the flimsy Microsoft keyboard and kickstand combo is quite nice. I have owned the Microsoft keyboard and this brydge and I much prefer the brydge.

The keyboard is the best yet and this is my third Surface

I hope that the function to select F1-F12 rather than the substitute keys can be restored in future versions, but that is not enough reason to remove a star from a superior product that most should be able to get working out of the box in minutes, which is shipped and arrives in a few days, and is good value for money.

I am currently on my third replacement of this keyboard. After several conversations with Sara in customer service, she realized that the first two serial numbers had come from a bad batch made by a previous manufacturer. I was amazed at how helpful she was, as well as how quickly she expedited my replacements each time. I have never been charged for any of my replacements and my current keyboard has been fantastic. I highly recommend this product and this company. You can be sure that if you have any issues at all they will be taken care of in a timely and professional manner!
