I bought this keyboard almost a year ago to replace my surface keyboard. Having to use the kickstand limited the number of safe places I could use the surface keyboard, so it was a welcome change. In general I love this keyboard, except for a few things: (1) I ABSOLUTELY HATE how the keyboard automatically turns off after a few minutes, and there is no way to disable it that I've seen. I do a lot of work that requires me to use my wireless mouse, and not my keyboard, so it is annoying and VERY laggy when I try to turn it on again and have to wait for it to reconnect. I feel like I lose so much productivity because of this. I may need to suddenly type some things while searching, and I can't tell if its on or off. (2) The power indicator system is pretty dumb, an it isn't always immediately clear whether it is on or not. I can't tell if it has timed out or died half of the time. (3) After awhile the part that holds your laptop up is less secure, but it is still more secure than the click into place surface keyboards. (4) I don't think my track pad works. I can't tell if it just doesn't work because I have an external mouse connected, but it definitely doesn't ever override it, which is weird because it doesn't even work when I connect the external mouse through USB. IT should be able to override it and I should be able tot use it, especially let's say I pass my computer to someone to quickly use, It's very annoying for them to not be able to use the track pad and then THEY become frustrated and I have to hand them the mouse. Over all it is a good concept, and I was super pumped to purchase it. However, for what it costs it should perform A LOT better, and it would have been simple to do some of those things that make it more user-friendly.

I was provided a Surface Pro 6 from work, its a nice machine but I was missing my Macbook (and I still do...). The kickstand on the Surface works well on flat surfaces like tables, counters, trunklids... but performs poorly in your lap. This is what lead me to look for a solution, what lead me to the Brydge. Now I can easily use my Surface in my lap in Airports and while working in hospitals all over the US. I also own a 12.9" iPad pro. Apple offers an exceptional, albeit expensive, keyboard solution. Not to say that Brydge doesn't also but I don't own a Brydge for my iPad (please feel free to send one out, I'd love to give it a try!). With Microsoft, you have to buy a completely different machine, and as I said I was given this, I had no choice. The build quality of the Brydge 12.3 Pro+ is really good. I've been using it for over a year now and it's held up pretty well considering I take it everywhere. The case is made of aluminum and the top of the keyboard is plastic. I really wish the top was also aluminum. It has just enough flex to be noticeable but the keystrokes are very nice and the trackpad is much better than I expected before purchase. I assume it's a glass trackpad but I'm not sure. It's better than any trackpad I have used on a Windows PC. The Battery lasts months between charges, which is a huge plus, not that it's difficult to charge, I always have a USB-C cord in my bag. I have to tell you, some of the screws on the bottom of the device came loose and I only noticed when one was lost. However, Brydge customer service promptly sent out replacement screws and rubber feet, I had them within a few days. Excellent! Overall I really like this Keyboard. It's turned there Surface that I was not initially thrilled about into a perfectly useful computer. I wish I had expensed the Brydge, and I probably could have, but I am happy to spend my own money to increase the functionality of the Surface Pro so greatly. I wish I had gotten a Brydge for iPad before shelling out $350 for a Magic Keyboard because now I can't justify buying another, and I'd love to try it out.

I was worried the hinges weren't strong enough and my surface would limp like my dick. But it didn't.

My wife purchased this product as an alternative to the signature type cover that comes with every surface pro. Absolutely a waste of money. The clamps leave the surface very susceptible to bending and indentation at the connection point. This will eventually crack the bottom corners of your screens (like it did on my wife's computer) rendering your device useless. So, spend $150 to break your $1500 computer or keep moving on for another product. The choice is very easy. The hinges also crack and break off (happened to us as it broke the screen). Additionally, customer service at this company is very sub-par and of course, they are not liable for the cracked screen that their product caused and will only replace the product with a receipt (which is fair). However, it is unfortunate that they do not go above and beyond to fix some major problems. A lot of risk for you the consumer with absolutely no cover. I wish I could find the receipt so that I could at least get my money back on the broken keyboard or a new keyboard that I could sell to some chump that doesn't read this review. Stay away.

I'm using it with MS Surface. This product is a great idea and designed well in most ways. The one I have has keys that make too much noise when I type on them and has ridiculous lag. I really want to love this device but it doesn't perform well at all. I have put in a request for support with hope to resolve the input lag, so we will see if it can be fixed but as of now, I cannot recommend this device to anyone. Other reviews say they do not experience lag so I'm hoping there is a fix. Maybe I got a bad one, but it is a real disappointment. In comparison, I have a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard that works very well with zero lag, so I know it can be done. Fingers crossed.
