Prior to Stone Pro I had to use various adapters to plug old style USB devices into my MacBook Pro 2019 model. Now the Stone Pro takes care of all these devices and the separate monitor into one device and one lead.

I spent a week trying to get this to work. Sara at support helped me by noting that if I was using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter the adapter has to be an "Active" adapter. Once I purchased the Active Adapter the unit works great! (Anyone want some passive DP to HDMI adapters? I have a few :/.) Because of my issues, as well as others, the "Recommended Setup" at the bottom of this page states "If your monitor doesn’t have a DisplayPort input, you will need an Active DisplayPort to HDMI cable/adapter (not included)." In the end, it's working well with my 2020 MacBook Pro 13 inch and my 2020 Dell Latitude 7400 2 in 1. Sara and Brydge were kind enough to refund some of the money I spent on various DisplayPort adapters (like I said, I have a few now). In the end this appears to be a good product. As for the heat. Every dock I own that is compact and metal gets very warm, this one is no exception. If your laptop has cooling vents on the bottom (as do many non Apple Laptops) don't set the laptop over the dock. Otherwise, warm means the heat is being dissipated. If it burns you (like 1st degree or higher) then there's a problem. I hope this review helps others out there!

The Stone Pro looks and feels great. It's machined and packaged well, but honestly it's lacking features and has some pretty significant software issues. First it's severly limited in usb-c/thunderbolt ports. For example I have an Thunderbolt Camera, USB-C monitor and one other perephial that prefers Thunderbolt. I also have an untrawide monitor and when I use the Stone Pro the resolution never gets remembered. Over all it's ok but I could have stuck to a much cheaper hub and had similar results

Pros - I love the design and, as a video webcaster on live TV, the Bridge Stone Pro Thunderbolt 3 serves my needs well with the number and variety of ports. Cons - The Ethernet jack (critical for my live reporting) does not provide a reliable connection. Most of the time my computer recognizes the ethernet connection, but sometimes it does not. That is a serious problem as my ethernet connection has to be rock solid reliable. In addition, I am not able to upgrade the Stone Pro firmware. I always get the message that my Bridge does not seem to be plugged into my computer and to try again.
