“One of my dogs had regular anal gland issues which pumpkin powder massively helped with. She now only needs her glands clearing twice a year. She’s very full by the time she starts showing symptoms with scoots.
The other dog having never had anal gland issues surprised me with a burst gland within 24 hours of first showing symptoms over the weekend, in her case no scooting but viciously chewing near her bum. She’s now on pumpkin powder too.
Both have very thick gland secretions, my vet didn’t have any suggestions for how to improve things beyond the extra fibre and just warned that too much intervention damages the glands and reduces their ability to self clear. Super unhelpful
I did some reading, including searching reviews for anal gland comments and decided to try adding this Super Tummy Daily powder to see if we could change the consistency to make it easier for the dogs to clear out naturally with their pumpkin powered super turds.
I already use the pearly pups dental powder, super shrooms and pumpkin powder, all mixed with some grated carrot given the dogs get air dried food. Topped with some tasty Scottish salmon oil. It was really easy to add another powder to the mix and the dogs didn’t seem to notice.
At the next check up 2.5 weeks into using super tummy daily, the gland secretions are much less thick and seem to be self clearing.
