This mattress is only available in one tension and has a firm feel.

This is a single-sided mattress, which should be rotated, but not flipped over.

“I bought a Borderdale (very firm) mattress in a custom UK Small Single size, and it is perfect for a small single daybed frame (oiled solid oak), to form an amazingly comfortable sofa/couch/daybed, paired with 4x overstuffed 65cm square 100% wool cushions as the sofa back padding. To this, I added regular linen bedding (fitted sheet and cushion covers) in the colour to fit my decor. I had been on the hunt intensively for 12 months to find a sofa that did not contain any toxic flame retardants. Almost all synthetic material-based sofas and mattresses in the UK do contain toxic flame retardants. You have to buy one made of all natural materials only, without any interliners, to get a legal, fire safe one without flame retardants. After 12 months searching for one for anthing less than £5k-10k, I finally decided to build my own, and Button & Sprung ticked all boxes and made this a pleasure. A friend of mine already owned a Button & Sprung bed, which she raves about. I will be definitely be buying only from Button & Sprung for all mattresses myself in the future. In the meantime, I actively recommend the company to other friends. And I finally have the UK's safest and most comfortable sofa/daybed, courtesy of Button & Sprung :)”

“can't give this 5 stars cos i actually found the 'regular' way too firm! but its a super quality mattress and was very comfy (until about 4am!!). returned no problems under the 100 night trial.”

It comes up as our firmest mattress because there are fewer springs and less luxurious fillings. “I like that it's well comforting in the neck area. Also, it has a natural filling with no added chemicals plus it's the right air temperature for cold,hot and -1. Review written by Master Murphy, 8years old who also wants a pair of socks.”
