“I went for the regular Southdown King mattress. It's really comfortable and you sink into it. I now quite often go to bed early to read/watch tv from here as it's so comfortable.”

“Very pleased with this mattress, it has just the right balance of softness and firmness for me, and produces a very good nights sleep. The only slight downside for me is the pronounced "dips" where older mattresses had buttons, but thankfully this one doesn't. Where most of your body weight is they are evened out, but where your feet are you are aware of them. This doesn't seem to impact on my sleep in any way but just feels different to my previous mattress.”

Hi Jane, Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review :) I'm glad to hear that you've found the right tension for the mattress. Our hand-made, natural mattresses are constructed with wool tufts. 'Tufting' - is a mattress making technique that has been used for many years :) Tufts work to keep the mattress ticking taught across the surface of the mattress. We do recommend using a cotton mattress protector with the mattress - which will greatly reduce any sensation of tufts, whilst protecting your new mattress from any marks/ potential stains.
