Most of us head to the nearest bed retailers and physically test various mattresses and with a little trial and error, are able to decide what best suits them in terms of comfort, durability and quality. In our case, we were swayed also by how it was made, lead time and the level of support for a bad back. As usual, it was always the most expensive in the range that met all the criteria. So against my better judgement, I was coerced by my other half to look at Button & Spring online as their mattresses looked as good as, if not better than the other high end retailers. We ended up buying the Swaledale King Mattress and bed frame and I have to say, the finished product in the flesh has exceeded expectations and actually cost less than the one I was using as a benchmark. It is supremely comfortable and after a month, I can say it has provided much better sleep quality than I have had for a long time. Their Customer Service is fantastic and we were left with the opinion that everyone we spoke to there felt proud of what they represent and wanted to go the extra mile to make sure we ended up with what was best for us rather than a tick in the 'another sale' box.

So supportive. Takes a few night's sleep to "soften" up but worth it!

About 100 times the amount of springs than your average trampoline, this must be the mother of all snooze-enablers. We got ours with a topper, which feels a bit like attaching a stratocumulus cloud to the top of a giant sofa cushion. Lovely stuff.

A 100-night try is probably the biggest advantage when buying a mattress: firstly, it's enough for it to "open-up", reach the designed softness and support; secondly, it gives you time to realise whether the product is right for you. It wasn't "love from first night" for us, but after probably two months we started to enjoy it more and more. Which means — give it a proper try and make sure you feel the difference! NB! Yes, it's quite thick.

We actually decided to upgrade from the Swaledale to the Teesdale mattress as the Swaledale was a bit too firm for us. It was no problem at all to change the mattress and we're very happy with the service received from Button & Sprung! All the mattresses seem very well made and I love the fact that only natural fillings are used. Thanks again!
