Hi Catherine, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. A brand new mattress can take a few weeks to properly break in, it's like breaking in a new pair of leather shoes. “We pondered the mattress choice for a long time but we are so happy with the Teesdale. It is so comfortable and feels luxurious! Only thing is the divots in the mattress are quite prominent so you can feel them with just a sheet on which is taking some getting used to.”

Hi Charlotte, Thanks for leaving us a review. We use a traditional 'tufting' technique across the surface of the mattress. When a mattress is brand new, it will feel a little bit firmer for the first few weeks as you break the mattress in by sleeping on it. Over this time the tufting across the surface should soften as the natural fillings are broken in. We would also suggest using a natural cotton mattress protector (not to be confused with a topper - which you shouldn't need) with the mattress, which will help to even out the feel of the surface.
