We transitioned slowly from breastmilk to formula over a few weeks. As my stash of frozen milk dwindled I knew we needed to make the change. So I started by adding 2oz of formula to 6oz of breastmilk. I did that for 5 days. Then did 4oz of formula to 4oz of breastmilk for 5 days. Then 6oz of formula with 2oz of breastmilk for 5 days. Then did 7oz of formula to 1oz of breastmilk for a few days. We are now on all formula and she never missed a beat. I am mourning the fact that I am losing my milk just shy of 10 months but having her on a formula with ingredients and sourcing that are of good quality gives me peace of mind. I will still breastfeed at bedtime and in the morning as long as I can in addition to feeding formula.”
