“I started combo-feeding my son shortly after getting home from the hospital. My supply couldn't keep up with my hungry boy, and I just wanted to ensure he was getting enough food! We started using Simlac 360 Total Care because we happened to have it on hand as a welcome gift, and it was supposed to be close to breastmilk. I noticed my son seemed to strain when trying to poop, and I felt like it wasn't normal. His pediatrician said it was, but I felt terrible for him. “I really wanted to exclusively breastfeed my babe and not put her on formula. I was really starting to struggle with it, babe was not ever sleeping through the night and I felt like I nursed more than not during the day. The formula on the shelves at the grocery store were less than ideal to me. Animal fats are key to babies brains and none of them were made from whole milk. I spent about a year focusing on the ingredients I put in my body to then feed my baby, so I was willing to SUFFER rather than just put her on a random formula. I found by heart and saw it was the only formula made with whole milk. I also saw it has Choline, something that seems to be completely omitted from most prenatal and postnatal care information. I took choline my entire pregnancy and could tell a difference in how I functioned ( ie pregnancy brain) with and with out it( when I would forget) and I really wanted my babe to have it included in my babes diet.
Anyway, after the first night of giving formula, one bottle at bedtime my babe slept 12 hours!!! It isn’t perfect, it can’t fix sleep issues due to teething etc but it has made me able to forgo any mtn feedings, my babe LOVES her baba- starts dancing when she sees me making a bottle. Still nurses twice a day. Really my only regret is that I waited so long to supplement. My life is so much easier since and I fee comfortable with the ingredients!”
