“My Cart Tek GRX-1200-R has been been my reliable golf companion for years always running smoothly and maintenance free - until it didn't. I was on the 12th. hole as far from the clubhouse as possible when it died. Luckily, someone had a cart and we finished the round.
Now what to do? Why did the cart stop working? Battery is new and fully charged. Checked cable connections, looks pretty good. Probably the decade old cart is done.
Called Cart Tek not expecting much. Used to long wait and inconclusive jabberwocky tech talk.
Mark Mullen, Techie, answered phone in 2 minutes and started to ask a bunch a questions. Did you check the fuse? Fuse? The thing has a fuse? So Mark gave me a list of things to do but warned me that it probably is none of that because it could be the controller board.
Yup, the fuse was blown.. Inserted a new fuse and the motor worked except it could only run in circles and the manual and remote control did not work.
Called Mark back and he said only thing to do is to replace the controller board and while I'm at it, get a new battery SLA and port cables. The order came and after an easy You Tube assisted install the cart is like new. Thank, Mark.
Take a way? Cart Tek products are high quality and keeps on ticking for decades. Cart Tek did not hint of needing to get a new cart like, for example, the air conditioning company pushed for (I did not not get a new a/c; called another service company and they fixed it for $300.) Cart Tek service is superb and they stay with you even if it takes many (4) calls. Ordering and delivery was a cinch.”
“excellent help with directions as to installation as well as a video to further assist with proper ID of replacement procedure. Overall very satisfying experience.”
“My cart(Skippy) unexpectedly took off, and ran into a pond. I rescued Skippy before it was completely submersed, but after its bath, it needed some help. Mark, in Technical Service helped me diagnose the needed parts and sent them to me without delay. Skippy is now a happy trolley, anxious to return to the golf course.
Thanks so very much to Mark for his patience and help.
