“Great value option, i was replacing a 12yo version of the same filter tap (due to some corrosion and leaking at the opening). There was very little information for the FT1001 online, and manuals were just as light weight on details. My exisinting FT1001 did not have the soft/auto tap return feature that its replacement does. I really like the tap auto return/shutoff feature of the replacement, but others in my family preferred the older 1/4 turn on/off tap. Setup below the sink is similar, but way simpler in design, however i had to reuse some of the old brass fittings (most the new parts are plastic now, but work). The key reason I bought a new replacement over repairing the old, was twofold. One, it turns out to be very difficult (in my City), to find a repairer or replacement parts, and the new unit came with a filter. A replacement filter costs almost half what the replacement Zip unit cost, so it's very good value to replace.”
