“I really like this litter. I had been using the non-clumping CatSpot litter for years, and my biggest issue with it was that it didn't clump and thus was hard to spot-clean out of the litter boxes. Enter this litter, which does clump! And it's still very lightweight, so is MUCH better than getting one of those boxes of clay litter.
There are, of course, some imperfections. The product doesn't clump *as well* as a clay litter and so there are still mini-clumps of dirty litter that break up when I scoop and are hard to get. And I think the litter absorbs smell less well than the traditional coconut litter that CatSpot produces. Also, this litter doesn't get all over the way the non-clumping litter does, but because it's lightweight, it still ends up all over the rooms where the litter boxes are kept. But, I think these are just the result of the litter being natural, lightweight, and safer than other clumping litters, so they are totally worthwhile tradeoffs. I just mention them to let people know what to expect.
In short, I am a brand loyalist for CatSpot litter and will be using it for my cats pretty much forever. Obviously, in a perfect world, technology will keep improving so the odor and clumping technology get even better, but even if it doesn't, I would still wholeheartedly recommend this product to anyone I know with cats!!”
“Very lightweight. Easy to use. However, I had to stop due to an overwhelming smell of ammonia after using it. Switched back to traditional litter and the odor stopped. Started trying CatSpot again, and the extreme smell of ammonia returned. Maybe it's just my cats' particular PH or whatever, but it doesn't happen with traditional litters. It's too bad, because I really wanted to use this product. Hopefully others have better luck.”
“It is a bit messier than regular clumping litter, but odor is controlled much better. Also, litter is much lighter. As I have 2 new cats, decided to try this out on recommendation from a friend. So glad I did! Will probably switch all litter boxes over at some point.”
