“I thought I would follow up on the masks I received. They look exactly as they should and I was happy to get something fun to wear in these very difficult times. Unfortunately after wearing the mask numerous places for about a week I learned something kind of scary from my son, (yes, my son the doctor - sorry). Here's the problem: the masks don't even come close to passing the accepted standard for protection. The "match test" is a common test to determine the performance and safety of face masks. If you can blow out a burning match that's 4-5 inches from your face while wearing the mask, it's not providing a safe barrier for protection from air particles. We tested the KC Heart masks and found them completely unable to meet the standard. I realize the packaging clearly states the the masks are not intended for clinical use, but having a popular mask out there that is not capable of doing the job needed for use in a public setting is downright dangerous. I'm sure your marketing dept. will disagree but the responsible thing to do would be to send emails to all who purchased these masks letting them know they are not properly protected. I'm huge fan of your products but this purchase was definitely not what I expected from your wonderful brand. Please find a way to do the right thing regarding the spread of the Coronavirus!”

Hi, Donna! Thanks for your feedback on our KC Heart Face Masks. Our Product Team worked with our manufacturer to ensure we followed all CDC guidelines for non-medical, cloth face masks. We, too, believe in following the best standards, which is why we followed all CDC guidelines. Our goal remains to provide a comfortable, civic pride option for the fight against Coronavirus, which is why we built a mask with high-end fiber count and 100% Supima cotton; the candle test is a great guide, but we can't control how someone blows air out of their mouth.
