“The quality of the unit is very good. Better than I expected. The pieces are nice solid weight. They have a good feel appropriate size for the board. The technology is wonderful. I like playing chess with real pieces over the board. Playing online using my phone, computer or tablet is not the same as a tangible board and pieces. The blend of the two is amazing. Playing online using Lichess and now Chess.com is fantastic. The best of both worlds. The app is constantly improving. The interface between the board and app is very good. I haven’t noticed any lag or errors. I like the compact size for travel. Yet the size is not uncomfortable in any way when not traveling. I have recommended ChessUp to many of my friends. I am very pleased with my purchase….some YouTubers are offering a discount code of 10 percent off. I took advantage of that.”

“First off I want to say this board is amazing. It gives you the experience of playing over the board without having to leave the comfort of your home. The reason I’m leaving a 4 star and not a 5 star review is I’m a little disappointed that chess.com has not been integrated even though to this day the website still says that it was coming in early 2023. Other than that no complaints at all awesome board for chess fans.”
“My son tells me that this board is special and different from others. He tells me that the squares lighting up tells him where he can go and it is easier to learn how to beat me lol. He is 5 and asks me to play with him every day. It's been like this for over a month. We alternate checkers and chess. Sometimes if Chessup doesn't recognize the checkers instead of the chess pieces, we do have to recalibrate it. You can't just turn the board off and on to get the checkers recognized instead of chess pieces. But it's a pretty fast process. The process requires taking all of the pieces off of the board and pressing two buttons on the top of the board for about 3 seconds. The recal takes about 5 seconds. No tools required or flipping the board etc. After recalibration, you have to set the checkers back up again. This results in a successful identification. One reason for the identification issue which could be mostly the cause is it won't recognize the pieces if the bottom of the checkers have something attached to them like pieces of paper and the checker is not sitting flush. So I lift them and clean them off now. I believe I'm having to do recalibration much less now. Great board and an amazing smart investment. The issues I raise here are so small I hardly care and you shouldn't either.”
“I love my ChessUp board! Works great . Do need to recalibrate occasionally if you change location, but that is easy to do. Works well with lichess. Still waiting for chess.com for integration.”
