“I like the board, the chess pieces, playing without the app but Im more interested in playing with the app.
I dislike the android chessup app is very behind of the functions anounced, that it wont work with android 8 and in spite I purchased a tablet with android 11, the chessup app isnt compatible with that device. The app development is so slow that the board is already forgoten closed in the box. So, I guess its a game for my grandchildren but Im only the father of a preschooler. Im just waiting for the full development of the android app to give it a new go, play chess, checkers and the other games announced.”
“Die gelieferte Hardware macht einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck. Das Spiel gegen den Computer OTB (ohne App) funktioniert gut, wobei es hier gegenüber dem Spiel mit der App einige relevante Einschränkungen gibt (z.B. weniger Schwierigkeitsstufen, Spiel kann nicht gespeichert werden, keine PGN-Export möglich, usw.)
Die Software in der App hat jedoch zum Zeitpunkt der Bewertung noch viele Bugs, die einem die Freude am Spiel sehr trüben. Verbesserungspotential hat auch die Kommunikation der Entwickler mit der Community, bzw. dem User, der Bugs einmeldet. Außer einem automatisierten Antwort-Mail gibt es kein Feedback an den User.
Es bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Menge an Fehlern in der Software zeitnah behoben wird, damit der eigentliche Mehrwert dieses Bretts (z.B. korrekter PGN-Export) dem Preis auch gerecht wird.”
“The board is great! I encountered some software issues but this can be improved soon. For now I rate 4 stars because the board is not yet supported by 3rd party developers -- no drivers for Windows chess apps such Fritz, Shredder, Lucas chess, etc. I hope Chessup will provide API/SDK to 3rd party chess app developers.”
