Overall a great trip. One of the reasons I chose this tour was because there were only 88 tourists on board and therefore we did not have to wait in line for hours during the daily excursions. The boat itself was a good size, had a great common area, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms and toilets were clean and a good size (even had hot water). The staff were all super friendly, helpful, informative and approachable. They worked around the clock studying weather patterns and planning activities for the upcoming days. They also recorded information daily which was given to us in a neat little package at the end of the trip. The meals were so much better than I expected. Buffet breakfast and generally a 3 course lunch and dinner. Great variety of food and very tasty. I never went hungry on board and looked forward to every meal. Also, the daily lectures and breifings were very informative and helped pass the time when the boat was moving locations. The zodiac landings and cruises were amazing as you would expect. Staff made sure everything was safe prior to getting into the zodiacs for the excursions. However, on our final day the weather turned bad so we were unable to do any activities that day, but that is nobody's fault. We were fortunate enough to do 5 landings and 2 zodiac cruises over the course of the tour. Overall I had a great experience on the MV Ushuaia and so did everyone else on board I spoke with. I would highly recommend this tour and company. A once in a lifetime experience made even better by the tour company and equipment.

Didn't go to Antarctica so these comments are about Sub Antarctic Islands and yes, I would recommend the trip. It was excellent. The ship surpassed expectations and the journey itself was amazing for the amount of wild life we saw and the scenery of these remote islands. It was also good to see the efforts that both Australia and New Zealand had gone to, to remove introduced species from the islands.

South Georgia and Antarctica were absolutely breath-taking; much more so than I could have hoped for. The wildlife in South Georgia is incredibly abundant and it was wonderful to watch the birds, penguins and seals go about their daily routine without any interference from us (in the Zodiacs). Antarctica is beyond belief. Its volume and beauty surpasses everything I have ever had the priviledge of seeing. This is a very special place on earth - the most special of all and it absolutely must be preserved. All visitors must realise their priviledge and follow the biosecurity rules to the letter.

Everything about the trip was handled very professionally by CHIMU, nothing was left to chance. As I didn't land on Antartica I can only comment from a distance. The crew went to extroadinary lengths to go to the best places and always had a Plan B in mind. They worked very hard to give us the best.

The Sub Antarctic Islands are a fascinating and beautiful place to visit. Not many people get to visit this area and I hope it stays that way. Unfortuantely my trip missed out on two islands due to the weather but it was done for safety of the crew and passengers.
