The antarctic expedition with adventures was very well organised and professionally run. Antarctica was brilliant. Particularly enjoyed the kayaking.

Our trip to Antarctica was absolutely amazing! The landscapes were straight out of a dream. We were very lucky with the wildlife spotting and there is no such thing as seeing too many penguins, they are the cutest and funniest (and smelliest) little creatures. The activities that we did as part of the base camp where very professionally guided and loads of fun. I would recommend this trip to everyone.

Awesome ship, awesome staff and we managed to get an upgrade of our room :) We were super happy, even the changing weather could not spoil the amazing sights! Staff at Chimu were super helpful, quick in responses and the cruise was great value compared to other travel agencies, we recommend it!!

We took G Adventures 'Spirit of Shackleton' expedition and had a fantastic time. The tour was well organised, exceptionally well-staffed, and the ship facilities, while not luxurious compared to some, were more than adequate and appropriate. Thanks to the G Expedition staff we saw and learnt so much about this pristine environment, its wildlife, history, and significance. Many thanks to ā€˜Gā€™ and Chimu for a memorable adventure

We were made welcome by G Adventures from the moment we walked into our comfortable and well-appointed cabin on the MS Expedition. From the first briefing it was clear we were in the hands of professional Antarctic experts, with a wealth of knowledge to share about the wildlife and landscape. The crossings of the Drake Passage were as smooth as we could have hoped and the weather was excellent for our first two days of landings, when we set foot on the South Shetland Islands and walked among penguins and seals for the first time, then climbed on virgin snow to vantage points high above the beach. The variety of landing sites was maintained throughout the trip as we travelled along the bays of the Antarctic Peninsula. Our "Zodiac cruises" among the pack ice were particularly atmospheric, as we scanned the icebergs for wildlife. Over the course of the trip we spotted Chinstrap, Gentoo and Adelie penguins as well as elephant, leopard and Weddell seals. We also visited the reconstructed Antarctic Survey station at Port Lockroy and the abandoned whaling complex on Deception Island. The latter was also the setting for us donning swimming kit and diving in for the Polar Plunge - unforgettable! On board the catering was astonishing, with fresh food and varied menus including Thanksgiving turkey and an outdoor barbecue one day. The shipboard routine was also varied; as well as opportunities for a drink in the bars, there were lectures, videos and even one day a shipboard wedding. The organisation of all landings was utterly professional, with a thorough briefing the day before and full care taken of all guests as we climbed onto our Zodiacs.
