I own 3 Citizen Axiom's. I prefer the minimalist design aesthetic of the Axiom line. One of them is even a chronograph, but it clearly is made for style over function. But to be honest, the Axiom line with it's mineral glass crystal and 30m water resistance is not the most rugged of watches. Yes, they'll withstand the daily rigors of most office dwellers like myself, but they're not the sort of watch you take with you to the beach. I wanted a watch that I could feel comfortable going swimming, hiking, or other outdoor activities but almost all the watches that fit that bill were over the top with their oversized numbers or overly busy faces. I also didn't want to just by a disposable watch because I did want a watch that had a bit of style so it could fit in when not in the outdoors. I accidently came across this on this watch on the website. A "Paradex" that looks like none of the others in it's family. I almost wonder if it's mislabeled. Here is a watch that is not overly busy, still has some of the minimalist aesthetic that I enjoy, but also has 100m water resistance, a sapphire crystal, eco drive, and a decent price point. My collection is now properly rounded out. I don't have to give up style when hitting the pool or the beach. I can use my Axioms for daily use, but always have a rugged, functional and stylish watch for when it's time to leave my Axioms behind.
