Bought this because it seemed to show hands and numbers clearly… PERIOD! Without a melange of useless dials (Really? The time until next leap year?) crapping up its face, the watch promised one thing… to reward a fast glance with the correct time. After three weeks of wear, it’s done that. Also, since I’m reasonably secure in my manhood, this watch was offered without testosteronic chain links on a band which are guaranteed to do little more than gouge up my MacBook Pro and snag sweater or jacket sleeves. It’d be better if the illumination on the hands had longer life than an ill fruit fly. All in all, this watch both lets my iPhone stay in-pocket longer while surreptitiously tracking just how seriously some insecure gasbag’s monologue’s scraping away at my remaining life. Best of all, there’s no need to page through a thick manual twice yearly to adjust it to the caprice of daylight savings time or each time I cross time lines. This is my third Citizen watch.

The face of the dial makes it easy to read very pleasant and standout to look at.

I bought this 3 years ago. It has a black strap. It still runs very accurately. Its tough as nails with a classic look - not too busy. I can read easily at night too. My phone is located on other side of room at bedtime so Im not tempted to stay up -yuck.

Excellent built and quality! Like a German tank! It seems to survive my active style of living, I run, swim and bang it for 4 years and it still runs with no problems, real field watch for tough guys or girls!!!

Overall, I think this purchase turned out better than I expected. The dial face turned out to be a bit larger than I thought but in retrospect that was for the better since my eyes are getting older and the larger numbers are easier to see. The white numbers against the black face give very good contrast. It also helps that the #12 and #6 digits are slightly larger than the other numbers. I wish the calendar feature was larger as one has to bring the watch close to the eyes to view them clearly. Or had black numbers on a white background instead of the converse for better contrast like one of the other Eco Drives I have. Just be aware that the wrist band might be an issue if your wrist is too small. Otherwise I had no issues wearing it so far. I have liked the Eco Drive ever since I no longer have to replace watch batteries or remember trying to keep a mechanical drive wound up from non-use. Just have to keep it near a light source.

I enjoy wearing this watch. Very reliable time. I've had it for a year.

Nice watch. I'd definitely be interested in a titanium, crystal, with date, field watch if you ever get around to making one. That said great watch that keeps as close to perfect time as one could ask.

The watch face, casing, and band are exactly as shown in the product images. The only complaint is the band length is too short for a normal adult man. I can barely get the pin in the second notch, which doesn't leave enough to tuck the band into the loops to secure it. My hope is that I can find a longer band in the same color and hardware.
