The Skyhawk series of Citizen watches have for years been near the pinnacle of the Citizen offerings. These flagship pieces have traditionally been at the high end in terms of feature set and price point. Yet they have been let down consistently by the lack of a sapphire crystal. This has been puzzling to say the least, especially considering the fact that the case design offers little if no protection from scratching. This seemed to fly in the face of the entire Promaster design philosophy. Indeed one of the constant criticisms raised against this fine timepiece is it's ease to scratch it's face. Thankfully, Citizen has listened. No longer do you have to spend extra for a limited edition or Titanium version to get a sapphire crystal. It now comes standard. Add to that the fact that Citizen has made significant improvements to the legibility of the dial, and you have one of the more durable and legible Skyhawks in recent memory. The U680 movement is still being used, so while functionally the watch has not changed, if you have been holding out for a sapphire crystal to come standard, you're wait is over.

I bought it half a year ago. It looks very cool on hand, firstly it was not comfortable enough to wear them because it had sharp edges and weighed too many but then i got used to and now i like it when you feel the weight of the steel. I would try them with leather band.

My wife gifted this to me recently and it exceeded all expectations. This watch is meticulous in every aspect. It’s comfortable to wear, and versatile for any attire. My Submariner has been collecting some dust since receiving this watch and that will likely continue. The flight calculations are spot on and have proven helpful in the cockpit, despite those who may say it’s more of a novelty. I fly for the Air Force, and precision timekeeping is necessary in a number of time zones, it’s nice not setting my watch every morning anymore. If you’re a flyer, you need this watch.
