Reaching deep into Citizen’s dive history, a 70’s classic is reimagined with a modern twist in the new Promaster Mechanical Diver – now updated with advanced features suitable for the ocean or the office. The retro design is based on the Citizen Challenge Diver found covered in barnacles on an Australian beach after being submerged in the ocean for years – but was still ticking. That history has inspired our new Promaster Mechanical Diver and given it the affectionate nickname, Fujitsubo – Japanese for barnacle. “The purchasing process was easy on the ditizen web site. The sizing by citizen saved me time & probably frustration since I do that so rarely. It's only been a couple weeks. I would buy it again. It looks much better in person. The weight of the titanium watch & bracelet is amazing compared to my stainless steel watches. Overall, so far so gtood.”

Black With Bracelet

“I purchased the black version because I didn’t need the blue face, and after 1 year of ownership I wish the black was offered in a bracelet. This watch has pretty much become my daily, and I wish I could find the bracelet separate. I’ve tried a couple of retailers and they can’t seem to order the correct one.”

“Really love this watch, keeps great time and has a beautiful face especially at this price. The titanium feels and looks nice, the beveled sapphire glass is a nice touch and I absolutely LOVE the hands. Also has really nice lume, overall the watch punches way above it's price. The one and only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the band just isn't very good. Single solid links that aren't very comfortable and the clasp wetsuit adjustment broke on the first day I had it and will not "lock" in either direction. I ordered a new much better titanium clasp for $55 (with micro adjustments and no stupid wetsuit adjustment) but it's pretty dumb I had to fix a $1000 watch on the first day. If the watch came with a normal style clasp with a few micro adjustments it's easily a 5/5 star watch for me.”

“The watch itself is great. However, after a few months of ownership, the titanium clasp sheared off along one of the hinges (see photo). Luckily I was just having dinner at home and not in the water, or I would have probably lost it. I contacted Citizen customer support, who told me it won't be cover under warranty and that I could buy another bracelet for ~200 + taxes and shipping. I find this unacceptable, especially for such a good watch with lots of heritage. My watch was purchased directly on their website, too.”

“I like how the watch looks and feels, but the "Super Titanium" this watch is claimed to be is a big disappointment. The noticeable marks in the picture are JUST from me sitting at a computer at work with my wrist resting on the table as I type. I was expecting a lot more durability for the price point. Not sure If I would purchase another Citizen.”

“Very happy with the watch. Titanium feels incredibly light. The look and design is very close to the original old model. Functional watch with clean classy look. The movement is very precise. The rotating bezel does lack grip and the ratchet is not 100% crisp. However, does the job no problem. The grip situation is due to the old design (otherwise they would have to change the original pattern/shape on the bezel) and the titanium ratchet is usually different from stainless steel... Very decent offer, especially if on discount.”

“I just purchased this and wow! Outstanding. I love everything about it. I have owned many high end dive watches, but this guy here, I really fell in love with it. A good bang for the buck. I can’t wait to take it to the water!”
