“I've had these units for probably a year now; I bought a six pack bundle, gave 3 to family and kept 3 putting a unit in my bedroom, living room and in the grandkids' bedroom. They have been working awesome & I could definitely tell a difference. However within the last month, they have been emitting? A powdery white film that I've had to wipe up off the shelf around the unit, knickknacks and a black fan that is probably 3 feet away from it I have to wipe that down consistently every week. What is that substance because it never did that before just in the last 4 to 6 weeks and I wiped the units down with a cloth intermittently at least once every other week but more frequently now that I noticed that white powdery film ...is this a concern? How long do these units work efficiently?”
Hi CECILEE! We understand your concern, the buildup you’re seeing is collected airborne particles, and regular cleaning of the unit and nearby surfaces helps keep it working effectively. Air ionizer typically lasts around 1–3 years, and you can replace it once the blue light no longer turns on.
