Hi Mary! Regarding your query, the optimal height for Clarifion is 5 feet above the ground, but it will still work to cleanse the air at any height. It works best without objects blocking the front of it. When plugged in behind a couch or other piece of furniture, it will be less effective. We recommend plugging in an outlet in an open area. It is also advisable to place Clarifion near windows and doors to get the optimal air ionization it needs.
