This is a fun activity in Kettering, Northampton

If you've always wanted to give pottery a go but weren't sure where to begin, this ceramics experience in Kettering would make a brilliant starting point. Under the watchful eye of experienced potter Louise, you'll take to the wheel as you learn the techniques to throw your own earthenware mug or bowl.

In this serene pottery experience, you'll learn each step of the process at your own pace, using white earthenware clay to build your own unique vessel. Don't worry if this is your first time trying pottery, as you'll have help and guidance from Louise throughout the session. She'll show you the proper way to use the wheel as you shape, mould and guide your clay to its final form.

Everything you need will be provided on the day, so you just need to show up and enjoy two hours of creative zen. You'll leave the class happy, creatively refreshed and eagerly awaiting your piece's return from the kiln.

Please note:
- This session is perfect for people aged 16+
You will need to arrange to collect (in about two weeks time) once fired, or your pieces can easily be posted at cost.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience today with Louise, super interesting and insightful. We were quite nervous to begin with but she put us both at ease immediately and she was super helpful throughout - we are even going back to paint them!

Amazing class, Louise was a great teacher and I can’t wait to work with clay again! It was a guided lesson which means you end up walking away with actual functional pieces, perfect for a complete beginner who wants to show off what they have done! I also booked in to paint my pieces which I am super excited about! Tips for anyone going, make sure you read the information Louise provides before you go, I did and it was super useful, like cutting your nails for example, very important tip!

I can’t say enough good things about the Wheel Throwing Pottery Class my family and I just attended—it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. The studio had such a calming, creative vibe, and Louise was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about her craft. None of us had any experience with pottery other than watching on TV, but we were guided step-by-step through the entire process in a way that was both easy to follow and empowering. Each of us got plenty of individual attention, and we all managed to create pieces we were proud of—something I didn’t expect going in! The combination of learning, laughing, and getting our hands messy made it a truly special bonding experience for our family. Whether you’re looking for a fun activity, the beginning of a new hobby, or just a way to spend meaningful time together, I highly recommend this class. We left with full hearts, great memories, and a newfound appreciation for the art of pottery. Thank you Louise!
