“I had the best time! Dave is a great teacher, he really takes the time to explain and show you how to do it, before giving you the opportunity to do it yourself. I made 3 different shaped mugs, learning different techniques and then picked my favourite and made a handle for it. The handle part was a little more technical, but again Dave showed me and let me do a test one before doing the actual one. Can't wait to go and pick up my mug once it's fully dry and ready”
“I had a great evening with 1:1 tuition from Dave. He showed me what to do then I had a go, with Dave only stepping in to give instruction advice and help when needed. It was the right balance of autonomy and intervention. I made 3 slightly different pots, one with a handle - which Dave will glaze and fire for me.
A very enjoyable time.”
“Dave was absolutely lovely.
Me and my friend Paige loved the class it was so much fun!
I’ve recently become disabled this year and had trouble getting there on time and Dave was extremely understanding and didn’t take any time off our session at all.
We got to make 3 lovely mugs & choose our favourite to be glazed and sent to our homes! He was even extra kind and let us pick a second one to be glazed but just without the handle so it makes a cute lil pot/vase. You also get to stamp the base of your mug with some little cute stamps to personalise your mug, with initials or smiley faces etc.
We were also complete beginners and he helped us all the way through, even when we messed up, a lot haha.
We already want to go back it was so therapeutic and so much fun!
I would really recommend this class to anybody. Of course just for fun but even to wind down if you’re feeling stressed in life for any reason as it’s very calming and therapeutic!
I am a wheelchair user but luckily can alternate mostly and use a walking stick. I have to mention that sadly you wouldn’t be able to do this class if you were fully wheelchair bound as there’s no wheelchair access to the pottery studio, only stairs. Luckily though I took my time and the stairs were fine. I just wanted to point this out in case anyone disabled was looking at this class.”
“The Throwing on the Wheel class was a gift for my parents, they both thoroughly enjoyed the class and mentioned how friendly the teacher was. They have learnt lots of new skills and have found a new interest. They have already decided they are going to attend another class because they were so impressed. Thank you for giving them an excellent experience.”
