This is a fun activity in Bankside, London

Just a 2-minute walk from London Bridge station, discover the calming joy of pottery at Maison S.Sommet.

Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour BYOB wheel throwing class is a chance to unwind, get messy and create your own functional ceramics in our warm and welcoming studio. Guided step-by-step by our expert teachers, you’ll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before creating your own cup, bowl or ceramic vessel. Even complete beginners are often surprised by what they create in just one session.

We provide everything you need including unlimited clay, tools and aprons — just dress comfortably and trim your nails beforehand for the best experience.

At the end of the session, select your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in your choice of our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze for £10 per piece. Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4–5 weeks.

Perfect for date nights, birthdays, friends or solo creatives looking to try something new in London.

Our studio is fully equipped with air conditioning — ideal for escaping the heatwave.

Clay, music, good company and your new favourite mug.

Great teacher made it really easy to follow and helped with the basic so we could actually have something decent at the end

Great class! The teacher took her time to explain each step and was always on hand if you needed any assistance. Very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely go back.

Really enjoyable class very centrally and conveniently located near London Bridge. Clear instructions from obviously knowledgeable (and patient) instructors. It was a lot to take in over two hours (taking clay from throwing to a "finished" item) and I definitely feel I need more practise to develop the techniques taught, but I loved the experience and felt it was good value for money.

Really enjoyed the class! I was apprehensive if 2 hours would be enough but each of us managed to have at least three goes at making different items. Would love to try this again!

Really enjoyed. ! Went through the basics quickly, but thoroughly enough so by the end everyone was making mugs/ cups / dishes. Time flew by, recommend this class for a bit of fun if you're new to pottery. Teacher was great.

Teaching was excellent, appeared at just the right time to get us back on track! Was happy with the 2 pots I made, my husband was not and didn’t want keep anything. Using the gift cards could have been easier, no way to add a second voucher - had to process both entirely separately as 2 different bookings
