This is a fun activity in Bankside, London

AIR CONDITIONED!
Just a 2-minute walk from London Bridge station, discover the calming joy of pottery at Maison S.Sommet.

Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour wheel throwing class is a chance to unwind, get messy and create your own functional ceramics in our warm and welcoming studio. Guided step-by-step by our expert teachers, you’ll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before creating your own cup, bowl or ceramic vessel. Even complete beginners are often surprised by what they create in just one session.

We provide everything you need including unlimited clay, tools and aprons — just dress comfortably and trim your nails beforehand for the best experience.

At the end of the session, select your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in your choice of our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze for £10 per piece. Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4–5 weeks.

Perfect for date nights, birthdays, friends or solo creatives looking to try something new in London. Bring your own favourite drinks to top your experience!

Our studio is fully equipped with air conditioning — ideal for escaping the heatwave.

Clay, music, good company and your new favourite mug.

We did a private pottery class for a work team social and had a brilliant time. Tilly was a great teacher, really friendly and very helpful throughout, making sure everyone had at least one piece of pottery to take away. The BYOB option was a nice touch, and the air conditioning was much appreciated in the 36 degree heat! Would definitely recommend!

We had such a lovely time at our pottery class :) we’d been once before when the studio was in Peckham and enjoyed it so much, we booked again! The location is SO much better now - nice and central and a cool space under the railway arches. Jess is bloody lovely. Very informative, leaves room for questions, and has a wee spark about her that makes the class fun and inspiring. I learnt a lot in the 2 hour slot the first time, and even though it had been a year, managed to retain some of the knowledge for this time around. It’s very tempting to book on for the 6 week beginner class… watch this space.

Pottery wheel throwing takes you away from the day-to-day world. The class was set in a relaxing environment and was led by a super-supportive teacher. Wheel pottery is both easy to get started with but hard to master, and fun to explore with others.

The teacher was great, gave very detailed step by step instructions and came around to help individually. I loved the experience and will definitely go again! I used a gift card and it was very easy and straightforward to use.
