This is a fun activity in Bankside, London

Just a 2-minute walk from London Bridge station, discover the calming joy of pottery at Maison S.Sommet.

Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour BYOB wheel throwing class is a chance to unwind, get messy and create your own functional ceramics in our warm and welcoming studio. Guided step-by-step by our expert teachers, you’ll learn the foundations of wheel throwing before creating your own cup, bowl or ceramic vessel. Even complete beginners are often surprised by what they create in just one session.

We provide everything you need including unlimited clay, tools and aprons — just dress comfortably and trim your nails beforehand for the best experience.

At the end of the session, select your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in your choice of our signature Cobalt Blue or Clear stoneware glaze for £10 per piece. Finished ceramics are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and are usually ready for collection within 4–5 weeks.

Perfect for date nights, birthdays, friends or solo creatives looking to try something new in London.

Our studio is fully equipped with air conditioning — ideal for escaping the heatwave.

Clay, music, good company and your new favourite mug.

Me and my mum really enjoyed this pottery class – it was our first time and such a great experience. The teachers were fantastic: really patient, encouraging, and happy to answer all our questions. I wasn’t sure if two hours would be enough, but we actually managed to make 4–5 pots each, which was a nice surprise. We’d definitely come back again to keep improving our skills!

The teachers were super fun and helpful. They helped me everything I messed up my clay. They encouraged us to make more even if we had less time left for the class to finish. I would love to come again.
