“This class was a truly unique experience, and I loved the fun, creative, and supportive atmosphere. The teacher was highly experienced, helpful, and approachable, and all the materials, drinks, and snacks were provided, which made for a really enjoyable session.
My only suggestion would be to add a bit more structure at the beginning. As many of us were beginners, I think dedicating around 15 minutes to brainstorming ideas, techniques, and steps as a group would have been really valuable. There were a couple of examples on the wall but I think, having a projector or a board displaying different painting styles, suggested subjects, or step-by-step techniques - like sketching first, using a black base with white highlights, or exploring colour combinations - could help guide us before jumping in. Even a simple list of suggested subjects based on difficulty level (e.g., beginners: flowers, objects; intermediate: animals, simple scenes; advanced: landscapes, groups of objects, people) would have provided clearer direction.
Instead of just searching Pinterest without much guidance, this kind of introduction could help participants feel more confident and get even more out of the experience.”
