I booked a sewing refresher to learn a few sewing skills and become a bit more confident on the machine. I learned how to mend a pair of jeans and some useful tips for future sewing projects. Thank you Claire!

I was gifted a vintage sewing machine, and I decided to learn how to use it. Claire, my instructor, patiently helped me learn how to use the machine. At the end of our lesson, we created a small bag.

This was a terrific starter class to help me get used to handling the speed of a sewing machine. Claire is lovely and patient and I would highly recommend this to a beginner. Thanks Claire!

I really enjoyed my private sewing class with Claire. She was very patient, as I’m a total beginner. I will definitely go back for more lessons. I highly recommend anyone wanting to begin their sewing journey start with a lesson from Claire.

I am an absolute beginner. I needed to make something for a Mary Poppins inspired number I am going to perform. I shower Claire my ideas and we decided on what would be the easiest for me: a basic bodice pattern. Making the pattern took like an entire hour. At first I had no idea what I was doing and was just following instruction, tracing lines where Clare was telling me to. Once all the proportions were marked and I started connecting the points, it finally made sense when I saw the shape of the garment coming together. After that, Claire wanted to continue with the pattern for the sleeves but I really wanted to use a sewing machine for the first time so she taught me the basics. We copied the pattern so I could take it home and practice on my own. It was a good class and I’m excited for more. The only thing I can say is I wish we’d gone through the pattern making faster, since it was done following instructions from the book so I feel like that part could’ve taken less time.
