I was very disappointed with this class. I had booked it as a gift for my younger sister and niece, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. Despite informing the teacher of their prior sewing experience, the session was extremely basic, they were only shown a zig-zag stitch and other simple techniques. They found the teaching style unengaging, did not enjoy the session, and felt it was a waste of both time and money. Additionally, the teacher was not particularly friendly.

Claire is a wonderful teacher and my 9 year old is all fired up to try what she has learned on her own sewing machine. Highly recommended.

I had a great time at the sewing workshop as a complete beginner. The space is creative and welcoming, a refreshing change from my usual corporate environment. Claire, the sewing tutor, is amazing: knowledgeable, kind, and patient, with a clear passion for her craft. I felt I was able to take my first steps in a comfortable, supportive environment, which made the whole learning experience smooth, enjoyable, and a really good start.

Unfortunately, our experience with this private sewing class was quite disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt cold and uninviting. The instructor didn’t introduce herself or ask our names, which immediately made the session feel impersonal. We were simply told to sit down—no welcome, no drinks offered, and no effort made to create a comfortable environment. The class was held in what appeared to be a staff area, not a proper teaching space, and at one point someone even put the kettle on during the lesson, which was distracting and unprofessional. The biggest issue, however, was the instructor's attitude. She was noticeably rude and condescending when giving instructions, which made the learning process uncomfortable—especially as English is not our first language. Rather than offering support or patience, we felt talked down to and dismissed. To make matters worse, the session felt rushed and poorly timed, and there was no opportunity to finish our project properly. Overall, we left feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and disappointed. We would not recommend this class to others, especially beginners or non-native English speakers looking for a supportive learning environment
