This is a fun activity in Southwark, London

If you've always wanted to try lino printing but never got round to it, this beginner-friendly class is the perfect first step to take!

Hosted in a colourful central London studio, this workshop will show you how to create multiple prints in a variety of colours using a single block of A6 lino. Your expert teacher, a talented local designer, will introduce you to all of the tools and equipment before getting you up to speed with the techniques needed to print stunning posters by hand.

You'll create a custom design, transfer it onto a block of lino and carve out the impression before applying your ink, ready to experiment with different application methods to print your artwork on paper. The best bit? You can bring along your favourite drinks to enjoy throughout the experience!

At the end of the class, you'll have three printed A4 artworks to take home, ready to frame and hang on your wall or give as handmade gifts!

I really enjoyed the Lino cut workshop and found the creative process incredibly fun, but the experience would be much improved if the session were extended to allow for a less hurried pace. Because we felt constantly rushed to finish, it was difficult to fully settle into the craft; providing more tools and carving sets for the group would also be a huge help, as it would ensure everyone can work on their piece steadily without having to wait for shared resources.

A really enjoyable couple of hours with a great teacher. A little daunting to make the first cut but lots of help and good advice. Plenty of time to make several versions. Would recommend!
