First time pool owner and no clue what to expect in terms of chemical balance and maintenance. It was actually a breeze. The water always looked like jello and the amount of chemicals used was very minimal with no residue smell on your skin. I check the water daily as my routine and actually when we opened up the pool this year the water looked very good. I’m sure the the clear blue and regular maintenance had a lot to do with it.

This ionizer works as advertised.. I haven't needed to purchase as many chemicals as predicted by others. Have never had an algae problem to date, whereas a friend who has a salt water polo has had major algae issues.

I have been very pleased with the ionizer. We had a salt water system before and, after a period of time, the salt corrodes and it was a nuisance to maintain compared to the ease with the ionizer. It was installed 2 years ago and it has kept the pool clean and sparkling. I highly recommend the ionizer.

We upgraded our pool from salt water to mineral water this past summer and couldn't be happier. Our salt chlorinator needed to be replaced and when we spoke to our local pool supply company, they recommended we make the switch. The overall system was less expensive and was a breeze to install. I'm not a handyman by any stretch, and it was easy for me. The system uses less chemicals also which is a bonus. I would highly recommend making the switch from salt water to mineral.

The first year we used the ClearBlue Ionizer it worked as expected. Our pool was clean all summer and we didn't have to use much chlorine. We followed all other pool cleaning requirements as well, and we kept our above ground 24' round pool pump on 24/7. Our pool was not heavily used by many people. It's fairly easy to figure out the settings. The second year we used it we didn't need to have it on very much since the copper level in our water was even higher than the recommended value. We cleaned the buildup on the prongs and will see if we need to use it this summer. One thing we would've liked was to have the ionizer come with a protective container.

I installed the Clear Blue system one year ago in my Caribbean pool. Installation was simple and straight-forward and there have been no problems with that end of it. Unfortunately, the led window is starting to fail; a couple of the light "bars" have faded out, so resetting the levels of the ionizer is now nearly impossible. I will alert the company and see how good their warranty is. The system took a lot of trial and error to get the pool to the point where it is now; we are definitely using less chlorine than we did prior to the installation of the ionizer, and the water does not feel or smell chlorinated. Friends of ours actually went out of their way to communicate that info to me. Electrode use looks like it will work out to about 2 units per year for our good-sized, real swimming pool. All in all, I am satisfied with the ClearBlue system, despite the above-mentioned challenges and limitations.
