“Bought in sept 2021. Stopped working in January 2023. Used 3x per week. It started to slow down so I took it apart (which was no easy) and cleaned it. 3 grinds later and it was not grinding again. Took it apart again which was a pain as the housing comes off but you cannot easily clean the internal grind components such as the burr grinding elements. Additionally grounds would get stuck in the machine and when you pulled out the plastic container the grinds would slowly leak out. The cheap plastic container caused the grinds to stick to the top and top edges. Always made a mess. This coffee grinder is worth $35 in my opinion. Absolutely disappointed from top to bottom.”
Hi Nathan,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
The Encore has been a staple for decades as it's impeccably well built, easy to maintain, and if taken care of properly will last a very long time. We have not heard from you regarding your grinder so please feel free to reach out at any time for troubleshooting advice. Alternatively, you are free to contact Baratza directly as they handle all issues with their grinder directly. They are the absolute best and will make sure everything is made right. On a side note, I wouldn't recommend taking your grinder apart without speaking to us first as there is a potential to make matters worse. Also, be sure you're using fresh coffee. If the coffee doesn't have a roast date, put it back. If it was roasted over 30 days ago, put it back. Stale coffee tends to create a ton of static when ground creating a mess.
We are here for any further assistance you may need.
Thank you!
Christine F.
“An AMAZING grinder! Purchased as an entry level grinder to start espresso (pressurized baskets). Easy to set up and has worked perfectly for my needs. The build is sturdy. I don't keep beans in the hopper as I change daily. I've also used it for filter coffee without issue (mom loved that). There is some retention unfortunately but that's with most grinders. There are solutions to minimize retention online. Overall, a solid 4.8 machine for me.”
“I love my Baratza. My Maestro Plus lasted nearly 15 years. The team at Cliff & Pebble is 1st class. I received my Baratza Encore in I think 2 days! Thank You!!”
