“Back in 2016, I bought a Rocket Evoluzione V2. I don't think that I have ever used the single basket (that hides in the cupboard above the grinder). My wife and I prefer double espresso, and I overload the double basket with 21g. I had seen naked portafilters online, but had never previously been motivated to try one for myself.
Until now. I am a convert. It has taken a little while to dial in the shots, but now my double basket is in the cupboard next to the single basket. With the dosing ring, WDT tool, and puck screen, I am getting 24g of coffee into the bottomless portafilter basket; the shots are consistently good, with a noticeable improvement in extraction (mouthfeel and flavour).”
